Las Vegas at Night

My husband and I are staying at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas this week. We're here to meet my sister and her husband. They are here on business, but have had plenty of time to spend their evenings with us. We've been having a great time.
This evening, we walked over to Caesar's Palace to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant. On the way back, I took this photo of our hotel and some of the surrounding hotels at night.
No matter what else you think of it, Las Vegas is pretty spectacular!

@JudyEv - I don't think there is any other place in the world quite like it ... whether that is good or bad, I'm not sure. LOL

@crazyhorseladycx - The Strip did not seem as busy last night as it was when we were here in the spring ... but maybe that is just my perception. We're having a great time.

@crazyhorseladycx - My sister told me this is the slow season in Las Vegas until the holiday travel starts. Guess we are lucky to be here now.

@MattMeng - Yes, the tower is supposed to look like the Eiffel Tower. The hotel where it stands is called Paris ... although it is really not very much like the real city of Paris!

@DeborahDiane I think that's why it called Paris.

@MattMeng - Yes, they tried to make it look like Paris, but they did not completely succeed!

Something of a contrast to the picture i posted recently but just as spectacular in its own way.
I've never been to Vegas but, as a bit of a gambler, I think it's something i need to plan in. I'd love to get on the Blackjack tables.

@DeborahDiane Thanks for the heads up. I'm a man of simple tastes so not sure i could be bothered with anything too fancy!! In any case, the more difficult the rules the easier it is to lose in my experience.

@WorDazza - I agree that the more difficult the rules, the easier it is to lose! I have found that, in Vegas, the older and less fancy the hotel, the more generous the slot machines are because they want to attract customers!

@WorDazza - If you like to gamble, the "new" Blackjack has become much more complicated than a simple game of "21." You would have to check out what is happening in all the different casinos.

Yes, much prettier than it was way back when the mob ran the place. It was more sophisticated then, but so were we all.

@ElizabethWallace - I remember when people used to get all dressed up to eat out and gamble in the evenings. Now, almost no one gets dressed up ... even to go to the majority of restaurants. I haven't seen a single evening gown since we have been here.

@ElizabethWallace - I totally agree with the painful shoes part ... I always hated that part of dressing up, even when I was young.

@HazySue - Yes, my sister lives 2000 miles away from me, but Las Vegas is only about 300 miles away. It is much easier for us to meet in Las Vegas.

@wiLLmaH - You can get really cheap hotel rates in Las Vegas, especially during the hot season and on weekdays. By cheap hotel rates, it is possible to stay in some of the nice hotels for less than $50 a night. There are a wide variety of places to eat ... from cheap restaurants to expensive ones.

@DeborahDiane Oh, he's no objection to gambling as such - he gambles regularly on horse racing. But casinos he's not fond of, whereas I am

@TheHorse - The Chinese food was very good. I haven't been to Reno in years. A long time ago we used to go to Lake Tahoe and Reno, but it has been decades since we have gone either place. We are thinking about going to Lake Tahoe next year. We'll have to think about it.
