The World is SO Small

I'm not talking about the actual circumference of the planet we live on, but how we all come together in one place and we are from everywhere.
When I read your posts from Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Philippines, India, Israel, the UK, Ireland, and even parts of the US, it feels like you live right next door instead of oceans away.
I've even gotten used to the difference in our cultures and think how wonderful it would be to be able to see and do the things you do on a normal day. Not only do I think about how wonderful each individual culture is, but I feel like I've known you all my life and we are more than user names, and occasional pictures of what we look like, but we are family in the true sense of the word.
When something happens, we look for some word and hope and pray for each other that loved ones will pull through situations and traumatic events in their lives. When something special happens, I'm so glad to feel part of the event, even though it was several thousand miles away from me.
A recent post from @JaboUK inviting everyone here to her garden party felt totally special. I felt like a lady, prim and proper in long white gloves, hat, and special attire for the event.
Do you feel the same when special events take place? Or when things happen and prayer is needed? Do you miss the people who haven't been around in a while and hope they are okay, as we all know @marcyaz has health issues and hasn't been seen in quite a while and hope she is still with us and will be back. @rosekiss is another who hasn't been seen in a long while and I hope she also is doing well.
I know I'm praying for @DianneN and her husband who just went through intense surgery. I'm glad for the updates on his condition.
Birthdays, graduations, retirement parties, the news good and bad, all make life around myLot special and exciting and I'm glad to be part of this very small world we live in.
Thanks for reading

@just4him It's funny how our imaginations work. I actually have a visual image in my brain for the view of kangaroos from JudyE's kitchen (whether it's real or not), the flowers and fairly temperate weather in Anna's Switzerland, and the desert in CrazyHorseLady's world. And of course your place when Winter comes and we talk Packers.

Thanks for sharing. We are like family here at myLot at least thats how I feel. We share our ups and downs ins and outs. Knowing people are praying for you is very comforting.

the net has made the world smaller, but in a way bigger, as we tend to do more online and less in the real world.

@just4him it has both hurt and helped the world I think, certainly a different place than it was when I was growing up, but isnt that just the way of things

i agree. when we read discussions, it is as if the person narrating is just a city away from us, or maybe our neighbor

It is a learning experience, and like in real life there are some things I don't care to learn more about so I take a pass. And while we may use different terms/phrases we all (most of us) experience the same things but different...if that makes sense.

Awww, thank you, and you know how much I appreciate all the prayers from you and so many others. I know prayers work, even if they seem to take a while. Yes, I feel the same as you. This is a marvelous place filled with such wonderful and caring people. I feel so close to everyone, too, and share in their ups and downs. We are so lucky to have found myLot. xox
