Live in the Along!

I just loved that statement made in the phrase and decided to use it as my title for a lovely postcard that arrived from Southport Merseyside. This time a new stamp of an acorn and not the usual visit from the Queen. Photograph taken in 1935 and No 5 in a series of 10. “Live not for Battles Won. Live not for The-End-of-the-Song. Live in the along.” ~ Gwendolyn Brooks It feels like Holiday time everywhere - a few mylotters have taken the time to escape from their hum-drum lives and skip off on a few days of pleasure. Oh I do love the seaside, but alas for someone so land locked as me, this can only happen on a once a year Big Scale or not at all. So to be sweet and short and get to the point immediately - HAVE FUN everyone - Live in the ALONG! Thanks @Asylum for the Pier Pavilion outlook at Southport and wherever you find yourself today in Blackpool - I hope you are enjoying an ice-cream on my behalf. a` tout a` l'heure or as they say in English . . . too-da-loo - See you later!

Thank you for the translation I did not know that "à tout à l'heure" could be translated that way, it's funny.

@Inlemay I searched and it is in fact in the Urban dictionary as a possible misspelling of the French phrase.

@LadyDuck It actually means "right away" but that is what too-da-loo means - I means I am going now - right away

I use it often with the grand-kids - that is the English version and they are now starting to repeat my words and my son says they say it so cute and funny ,

I love Southport. I'm only about an hours drive away from there so have been a frequent visitor since I moved to Manchester just over 25 years ago. So much classier than Blackpool.

@Inlemay Unfortunately Blackpool has turned into the sort of place where the more raucous stag nights and hen nights seem to be held.

I chose this postcard because the photograph is from around the 1930s.

It has a number on the bottom, therefore it must be a print of a special photograph - its quite lovely and my collection is really full of wonderful pictures and reads.

@Asylum I was wondering what the number was 16869 on the front side and then - Circa 1935 AND ITS Number 5 OF 10

There was no long vacation this year, but my husband and I did manage a couple of getaways. I also did a flying (driving) trip back and forth to Wisconsin with my daughter and a friend. Each outing was combined with some geocaching. At the moment I have a streak going....finding one a day for 92 days straight!
