Pop Videos Shot In One Take - Elton John – I Want Love

This 2001 song took Elton John back to basics and reunited him with his early co-composer, Bernie Taupin. Elton doesn’t appear in the video which features only Hollywood actor, Robert (Iron Man) Downey Junior doing a perfect lip-sync to the heartfelt soul-bearing lyrics as he walks round a vast mansion that is devoid of internal furniture, giving a sense of a man with both everything and nothing. External wealth, and empty shell within. The camera is the most fluid thing in the video as it gently moves around Downey, and the empty halls as we hear his inner despair and raw honesty coming through. It is a beautiful haunting song, with or without its video, all shot in one beautifully lit and composed single take.. Arthur Chappell

I love that song. I love the entire Songs From the West Coast album. It proved that Elton wasn't "past his prime."

The lip-syncing is pretty impressive.
