A Treat While I work

I was working on a very boring job yesterday, a confiscation hearing. Just when I was losing the will to live, this heavenly aroma came wafting in from the kitchen. My daughter had decided to do some baking. 10 minutes later she came in with the results - chocolate orange cookies. They are soft cookies, every bit as good as the famous Millie's Cookies we buy at the shopping mall. I had always assumed Millie's were using some secret formula but it is available for all, a very simple recipe you can find at BBCgoodfoods.com So that was a great excuse to break off and make coffee. I'm going to miss my daughter when she starts at university next week.

@cacay1 Filipinos are not too much into biscuit making, we only love to buy cans and cans even big ones to give to relatives and love ones. We are more into making things made from sticky rice

They were delicious. You could make all kinds of combinations. Chocolate orange just happens to be one of our favourites, but I think you could do white chocolate chunk, chocolate chips & fudge pieces, Smarties, all sorts.

OH man, I'm looking for that recipe. I love the combo of chocolate and orange. I would love 'em. Sounds like you had a good break. My kids are long past college. Your daughter is leaving for college? Oh yeh you'll miss her.

@5thHouse Yes. But since i don't bake , my daughter doesn't also . Besides , she's always into studying , that she learned how to cook just lately , through the internet .

I can bake them too, but it's nicer to have someone bake them for me. I think it's nice how we teach our children to bake when they are small, never realising that one day they'll be baking for us, bringing us cookies when they're most needed
