We Had a Little Rain!

This afternoon, we got a little rain in Southern California. It wasn't very much and it certainly did not make any difference to our drought.
However, it was delightful to see rain after so many months without it.
I even opened up the windows and let the fresh air inside. I love the way the air smells after rain ... the ozone in the air.
I hope this is just the beginning of more rain to come.

@DeborahDiane Our rainy season is slowly coming to an end, so here in Florida we'll be getting a break from the rain. Now, if the cool air from up north would just hurry up and make its way down to us, life would be fantastic!

I can't remember this exact day, but there was one day of "sort of" rain here . . . well, it was teenier than droplets - evaporated as soon as it landed. And it didn't even last long. But with these drought situations, we have to savor any little bit that comes down I guess! Yes, let's hope for more rain . . .we sure need it!

@DeborahDiane We're getting that humid hot again . . . before the sun went completely down tonight, it looked like there might be some dark patches in the clouds . . . but oh I highly doubt we will get any rain. Has it been that way out there too?

@wiLLmaH - the state of California has been in a drought for the past six years. We have only been getting about 6 or 7 inches of rain a YEAR during that time. We often go six or seven months without any rain at all ... and then only a few days of light drizzle during our so-called "rainy season." We need much more than that!

. (I have offered to send a few of our thunderstorms out to visit with you for a while, but you keep forgetting to fill your bucket when the clouds pass by!

We have our windows open while we're running the attic fan... it is sprinkling right now, but we had a decent storm an hour ago. Our high today was 92 (F) and right now it is 66 (F).
I'm loving it, but Pretty closed her bedroom door and turned the heat on in her room! SMH! 
. (I have offered to send a few of our thunderstorms out to visit with you for a while, but you keep forgetting to fill your bucket when the clouds pass by! )

@RubyHawk - It is scary when our water sources get very low. I'm sorry to hear that is happening in Georgia, too. Many of our lakes are also very low here in Southern California. We need to be able to pipe all that flood water from Iowa into other locations in the U.S.!
