Chuck full of nutrients sprouts provide an energy boost of protein and are extremely alkalizing. Clean the seeds, then rinse them for 20 minutes to 12 hours depending on the size. Drain and then rinse the seeds at regular intervals which causes them to germinate. Sprouts have minerals, A, E, C and B complex vitamins, amino acids and folate in them. You can use sprouts in salads, casseroles, soups, and are great in sandwiches.

I've always wanted to do this at home. I remember years ago a man was selling them at our local farmer's market - they were a bit expensive, but oh so yummy in salads!

Yes, and in sandwiches. They are easy to sprout. Just remember to turn them and soak them.

@celticeagle Where you get your seeds for it? Are there packets of seeds for sprouts?

@much2say ......There may be. I always just soaked them until they begin to sprout. Change the water ever day.

If you like nuts you will probably like sprouts. I like them in sandwiches instead of lettuce.

Yes, just have to rinse and turn them each day. Easiest way is to get the sprouting jars.

@Jessicalynnt .....The jars have different size mesh in the top. Here's some instructions:
Nuts, seeds, and grains are nutritional powerhouses. However, the natural agents that protect them from early germination can wreak havoc in our digestive system.Soaking and sprouting replicates “germination”, which activates and multiplies their nutrients
