So many sites entice us to try to earn money O.o

Boobear has a way of looking at me as if to say "Pardon?" I took this a few years ago and added the text on it

And we diligently do our due diligence to make that .00001 cent or so by clicking through all those ads or whatnot, I mean all they want us to do to earn that .00001 is click on ads, right? BOOOOM, that's when they getcha, some dang hacker done went and tagged his virus or malware to the legitimate ad you're trying to view and your browser freezes ...... it just happened to me cuz I tried to do that on UniqueRewards. Buttttt, I found a solution. A while back I chatted with a Microsoft Tech who gave me this site to get help: I've used it 3 times already and it did just what it claimed it would do, it removed that blasted frozen dillybob and I got my browser back.

I had the same problem and Avast Antivirus removed the malware. When something like this happens, I also run another virus scanner, just to be sure that there are no leftovers on my computer.

I tried that too but Avast did not clear the problem neither did Malwarebytes. I finally just asked on the Microsoft site and that's where I got the link.

I have Avast as well @LadyDuck but the version I have does not protect against malware. I also have Malwarebytes but they told me they only protect my PC not my browsers.

@rebelann I was lucky that Avast blocked the page. Later I used the Kaspersky antivirus from a DVD and it cleaned everything.

The effective results of such tools depends on the specific virus or malware contracted. The only absolute defence against such threats is to create a complete hard drive backup to restore the computer in the case of a catastrophe.

@rebelann A factory reset is always a last resort because it generates a lot of work. You end up with many utilities installed by the manufacturers that you do not want and also older versions of several programs. I usually set up the computer exactly how I want it and make a complete external backup, which can then be used to overwrite the hard drive.

All I need is a device to save the external backup on @Asylum in the past I'd tried to save it to one of the seagates I use to store photos but someone told me I could not create a backup if the external drive was used for other documents.

Thanks for that reminder, I really need to do that but in the mean time this tool has helped me and if it doesn't I go back to factory reset.

My computer seems to be on its last legs, it just moves sooo slow. I keep thinking maybe I have some bug or worm on it.

If I were techier I would give advice but perhaps @daddyevil or @owlwings or @asylum among others can give you ideas about what to do to speed up your PC, they're really awesome when it comes to techy stuff.

I will check it out and save it like others have. At present I have a computer guy that can help me out when needed, but then I'm without my computer for a week or so until he gets it back to me, so this would come in handy.

Drat! Should have read this post before. A despicable virus ate up my browser and now it refuses to open up. I am going to get it right tomorrow (hopefully). I was already wanting to change Operating System so this gave me an excuse to do that as well.
