Rain And More Rain

Yesterday, we had two storms come through and we received some much needed rain. Our temps have been really chilly with highs in the 60's and lows in the 50's. Quite a bit of difference than the 90's we were getting. I had to actually wear a light jacket last night because of the chill in the air.
The above picture shows how much rain we got in a short time. The rocks were laid to help with the drainage problem but as you can see, it looks like a small river. I hate having the rocks there as it looks out of place yet it normally does help with the drainage but not when it comes down so hard.
With the storms came some thunder and poor Bella and Daisy were both with me in my recliner and were shaking so bad. I tried to calm them but to no avail. All I could do was just hold them and talk calmly as they can pick up any change in my voice. Eventually, the rain stopped and so did the thunder. Bella and Daisy soon forgot about the thunder and were off playing together.

@LadyDuck It can be depressing if the sky stays grey and dark for a long time and there is no sunshine. Yesterday we had one of those days and it looked like rain but we never got any. Instead, our temps have dropped into the 40's this morning but we will be back up to 85 tomorrow.

@simone10 My dog, Rascal, would hide behind the headboard of my waterbed. The first time I looked for him I almost freaked because I thought he had gotten out. I was relieved to find him and that's where he always went for every storm. Pip also looked for a place to hide and wait out the storm.
I really miss them.

so glad 'ja got'cha some rain 'n cooler temps, hon. i know that's such a relief fer all. 'tis great those rocks t'were placed - sure ought to help with erosion fer when ya get those heavy downpours.
poor pups :( the neighbors pup who's livin' here 'tis terrified 'f loud noises, too. he'd love to be'n my lap fer such, but i fear he's gotta settle fer shelterin' out'n my pottin' shed 'nstead. ya know, coz he chases cats 'n we aint sure if'n he'd harm the one that lives here'r not - aint gonna take that risk.

I really feel for them when they are so scared of loud noises. They don't understand what it is or where it is coming from. Poor Daisy shakes so bad and nothing I do really helps either of them. We just have to wait it out and once it's quiet again, they are okay.

@crazyhorseladycx I wish my dogs were like that. I can't leave them alone in the apartment if there is a storm in the forecast because they would really freak out if I wasn't here.

@simone10 poor lil darlin's :( i'm fortunate that the pup that resides 'ndoors only gets a tad nervous when the storms're so fierce the windows 'n house shake.
