Getting a jump on it

We had a good shop hop of quilt shops. There were only two for @marsha32 and I to visit today. Two more towns to visit.
All went well until we went to my car and it was deader than a doornail.
My insurance company arranged for a nice man to come jump start it. The car started right away. From that point on, I did not turn it off until after I delivered marsha to her home. I drove to the place in her town where I normally would get gas. It is a gas station associated with a grocery store.
Skeptical and paranoid person that I am, I parked in the store parking lot first. Sure enough it did not start. By that time hubby was home and I could reach him by phone. I had been distressed that I could not earlier, but the little town where he went to the car show did not get phone reception.
We did lots of jump starting to do some other stuff there in that town. I am home now. He will work on it tomorrow.

Ugh! Hate car problems. Glad I don't drive anymore. So you two had a nice day besides. That is good.

Oh yes, wonderful time discovering neat shops with fabrics, yarn, collectibles and antiques. Hubby and I have done some investigating of the car issue. In the long run we think that a connection vibrated loose so we had battery troubles.

@celticeagle It is a brand new battery, less than six months old. Yep, he is good at keeping the corrosion cleaned off.

@GardenGerty .....Oh, that's a quick fix. You might have him clean the battery if there is any white stuff on it. That can cause problems too.

It was a nuisance but a cheap fix, no out of pocket. The truck on the other hand has been a pain all summer and is now finally fixed as well. We are now up to a full complement of vehicles.

It seems to have been a loose connection on the battery.

Hope you can get a new battery of whatever you need there (mine was the altenator recently-not fun).

We think it was just a loose connection. We had the battery taken out and tested, thinking that it was faulty, but it tested out okay and the car starts and runs now.

It was a free fix, and even the road service was free because of insurance. There appears to have been a loose connection for the battery.
