Finally settled for Lloret De Mar

Despite the month being October, flight and accommodation prices are still higher than I would have expected at this time of year. This made choosing a holiday rather difficult, but I have eventually decided and booked one.
I shall be flying out early on Saturday morning and returning the following Saturday, which is good timing for my appointment at the hospital on the following Tuesday.
Lloret De Mar is on the Costa Brava and quite a popular resort. I have visited once before, but several years ago.
The hardest part was finding an appropriate flight because the majority of offers included flying to Barcelona. Not only do I dislike that airport, but it is about 92 kilometres from Lloret De Mar. Now I have found a flight to Gerona, a nice small airport just 30 kilometres away.

@LadyDuck I simply dislike large airports because it involves a lot of hunting around to find where you are going.
The last time that I visited Lloret De Mar I flew to Barcelona, which was a long coach journey to the resort. It seems illogical that most holidays to Lloret De Mar involve a flight to Barcelona.

I will fly to Gerona airport, which is a very nice small airport.
Spain is such a large country that it is easy to visit there several times without repetition. My earlier trip this year was Majorca, which is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. Lloret Dear Mar is on the Costa Brava in the East, so I may look at Fuengirola later, which is over 1000 kilometres West on the Costa Del Sol.

I went to Loret De Mar about 30 years ago or more. It was a delightful little town and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! I am sure you will do too. Have a great time when you go.

It sounds well organized and fun. Don't forget to pack your rain gear. It doesn't rain when you're prepared

I am so envious of your holiday plans since I've been stuck in the house for ages.
