Charity yard sale ... For local Dog charity... fun and rewarding...

Last year we made some do it yourself calenders, to sell at a charity market stall, on behalf of a charity that cares for, and re homes, abondened dogs..., or abused or lost dogs etc... They went very well, and we are hoping they do again this year. maggs224’s son, did the design work, and gave us a template..., and we chose the photos to go on it... and @maggs224 constructed it on her computer, using the template from last year. The post photo is of this years calendar, it is a mixture of animal photos, and local landmarks, around our small town. Some of the things we do is, pay vet bills for strays or dogs in accidents..., and for those that have been rescued... some of the vets are generous and give us a discount anyway..., but we still pay some of the costs... and the costs of re housing... the money goes to a variety of other uses too ... but all of it, is connected to the welfare of the dogs... so its a good cause, and of course it is well supported by the local population... one of the charity organisers who has been doing it for 20 years, also does a market stall on a Sunday..., at a much bigger market venue... This morning we had our monthly table top sale... locally, a bit like a yard sale ... except we hold it in a local cafeteria/ bar, on their patio..., we put tables out, and cover them with our sale items..., which is mostly second hand goods.., & clothes, music, dvd’s and stuff..., but we also have new things too, this morning we put out christmas cards in large and small bundles, to serve the ex pat community..., and of course our calenders... and all the proceeds go to the charity for the dogs.. It also helps the bar owner with some income too, as we buy food and drink from him, after we have had a browse round, we also do at least one or two other activities... this morning we played bingo, another time we will do a quiz... and that sort of thing... and we make a morning of it... Have you tried making your own calendar... there are quite a few apps and computer programmes, and web sites that help you to do it... and I think it makes a nice ..., personalized gift...
