It never ceases to amaze me just how brainwashed we are

I'm not kidding.
Recently a lot of people have been discussing the debates. According to the little I know only republicans and democrats were represented in the debates. The worst part of it is that the mainstream public sheep believe there are only 2 parties.
Are people really that stupid? There are actually 4 parties with candidates running for office but because the media won't give equal time to the other 2 too many only know of republicans and democrats.
Boy am I glad I don't fall into the catagory mainstream, I won't even listen to the TV BS that's been over rated ......
Whew, finally got that out .... I feel so much better
Well, now that the venting is over, whatcha think of my handsome boy Mykey? I lost him last summer. He was my companion and protector for 12 years.

I think some of the problem is that the other parties running do not get let into the debates until they hit a certain percentage. Well they will never hit that percentage if people do not know they exist. It is a catch 22, and the main parties love it. There are many more than the 2 main parties or even 4 parties. There are a lot of parties running, they just never get onto the main stage and probably never will.

Yep that's just about the size of it. Probably the biggest problem is that the really rich get lots of donations for their campaigns and the other guys can't afford to campaign because it's very expensive. So much for anyone can run for president, they don't tell ya it takes lots of money.

Very true but I think the first hurdle to jump is getting people to care @mom210 too many don't and then I have to ask just what happens to those votes made for the 3rd or 4th guy on the ballot, they won't even list them when showing the results.

@rebelann I wish the education system would teach in the civics classes, how to research. Look up all the candidates running because there are just so many. Parties you did not know existed, candidates you have never heard of. Get involved in the one that most closely matches your beliefs. We are taught politics are boring, maybe it is, but they hold your future in their hands. They make decisions that really do affect our lives in a positive or negative way. If we are taught that, we may decide that it is worth the hour on the computer to look up all the candidates. The hour out of your life to stuff a few envelopes or answer some phone calls at the headquarters. If we were more aware, we could stretch that stage out to more people.

Thank you, Mykey was handsome and devoted to me and yeah, his mix, which was American Bull Terrier and German Shepherd, has a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years so he had a good long life all things considered.
You are so correct about insane, the scary part is those people who follow what the media spreads know more about Brad Pitt and Angela Jolee ... Jolly?? ... than they do the real issues that really are important. I can not claim that I know all that much about politics unless it has something to do with wildlife and even there I find a lot of double meanings in the things I read, it is so hard to know who is telling the truth even about something as important as OUR planet.

There are way more than two parties, but there are only two choices when it comes to the Presidential election. It will be either Hillary Clinton (almost certainly) or Donald Trump aka Drumpf. A vote for either of the other two candidates on the ballot in most states is a vote for Donald which is a vote for the possible destruction of the human race. We have to work with the system our founders gave us until we make some major changes such as big time campaign finance reform and abolishing the outdated Electoral College.

I totally agree with that last statement but Trump would be vetoed by the senate and congress so he really can't do nearly as much as he thinks he can .... and then there are the fanatics who would eventually decide to kill the bozo. Cheeze, they killed JFK for less.

Much longer @crazyhorseladycx
Martin Luther King tried to get people to come together to make changes but some jackass killed him. It's a shame they couldn't prove exactly who killed him.

If you live outside the USA, you never hear about any option, other than Trump or Clinton.

Heck, even here in the states we don't hear much about other parties, the media is completely biased and the public is just dumb enough to allow it.
I wait til the voting day when all candidates are listed and then I avoid anything republican or democrat. I know that our system is far from legitimate anymore but at least I can cast my vote for what ever good that may do.
