Trying to age with grace

I'm turning 45 soon. How on earth could that much time have gone by already? I still feel like I'm in my early 30s (although my body and mirror tell me otherwise). I have a lot more grey in my hair than I did a year ago. I don't really mind that, although I still want to put fun colors in my hair and would probably end up covering a bit of the grey as a result. I wish there was a way to show off both.

I am 20 years older and there are days that I still feel in my 30's. I like the little gray in my hair, I do not bother dying them.

@teresatrotter It's the same in my family, our hair turn grey when we are still young. People say they are pretty and my husband does not want that I dye it.

@LadyDuck - My hair is turning white (it runs in the family)... I feel it is too light, but everyone says it is pretty, so I leave it alone.

@LadyDuck - I thought you said that you did not dye your hair?

OMG! 45! I will be 75 this month. And let me tell you. In my mind, I am still 30 at the most. My body says something else, but my mind tells me I'm still 30. I think 30 is the perfect age, actually and even though our bodies age, our mind USUALLY does not. Of course, there are those who have Alzheimer's and other mental situations. Dementia and Old Age syndrome. But not me. My mind is very alert and on the ball and I know there are many others that feel the same way. Why do we grow old and die? Many want to know the answer to that question, BUT, I know the answer and I understand the process. Do you want to know the answer?

My mother has Alzheimer's and I do worry sometimes that it lies ahead in my future too. There are tests I can get to see, but I haven't decided yet if it's better to know or not. I do try to keep my brain active.

My hair is going really grey now but I'm much older than you. I won't be bothering dyeing it.

I agree! I asked someone the other day, "does getting old mean that you're tired more often? Because I think I'm getting old." I definitely don't bounce back as much as I used to. I feel like I still haven't recovered from giving birth in March.

Aging with grace is doable. I'm glad to be reminded of that. Thank you. I'm 10 years older than your young age. :-) Have you decided about what color to dye your hair on?

I am in my early 30's but I still feel like I am just in my 20's. I have been accepting each one of us will reach old age someday. That is something we cannot escape. That is why, I am just trying to enjoy every moment of my life.

I love the fact that you're not afraid to show off grey hair. it's important to accept ourselves just as we are and like you said this will help us age with grace

I think grey color hair looks cool. Young generations are having this kind of hairstyle too.

Here's a link you might want to read about old age and how long you can live.
Can science help? Why can’t we live forever? Knowing the reason why we grow old and die is the basis for really understanding how long we can live.

I have passed from a little grey to a head full of grey. Age is just a number.

I would give anything to be 45 again.
