Yesterday started out as a really bad day. I can go online to request refills and have questions answered from my doctor. I had requested a refill on a medication that she had said she would fill until my rheumatologist appointment. (The prednisone that I had taken the day before was only a fluke as it didn't work yesterday at all.) Well, I got a response yesterday morning, before my visit, that the refill had been denied. No reason was given.
I had already been without my medication for a day and a half and I was in so much pain yesterday. My feet hurt so bad I could barely stand to have my shoes on and I did have several crying spells as I got ready to go to the doctor.
My appointment was at 10am and it wasn't long after I arrived that I was called back. As soon as my doctor came in, she knew something wasn't right and asked me what was wrong. I starting crying and explained that I was in so much pain I could hardly walk and she went ahead and gave me one more prescription for my medication but my rheumatologist will have to give me any refills I would need after that. I was so upset that my blood pressure was 140/100. She is hoping that it was due to me being upset and in pain.
I have been having a lot of other health issues so, she is going to refer me to a gastro doctor and an ortho doctor. She also requested that I get a mammogram and a CT scan of my chest and a tetanus shot as well as a flu shot, a pneumonia shot and a shingles shot.
As I waited for my prescription to be filled, I went to the clinic in Walgreens and had three of the four injections. They could only do three shots at one time. I will have to go back to have the shingles shot.
After my prescription was filled, my brother and I went grocery shopping as he was off for the day. We were only there about an hour to an hour and a half but by the time we left, I was crying because my feet hurt so bad. The dogs and I laid down for a couple of hours and I did feel a little better when I got up.
My rheumatologist appointment is on Monday the 10th. I am hoping that she can find out exactly what is causing my feet to hurt so bad. It's really tough to think that I may have this problem for the rest of my life. I am hoping that I will get my questions answered on Monday and praying that it will be good news.
I'm sorry this was so long and that I am kind of in and out on myLot lately. It's just when I am hurting so bad, I can't think to do anything, especially myLot. While I am feeling better this morning, I am going to try and do as much as I can to get caught up. I have notifications to do as well as answering comments and visiting all of you.

Oh I feel so very badly for you Sharon.
I can only hope that things will turn around, as I know how awful life can be when you don't feel well.
You have the warmest thoughts from me that things will turn around and that today will be a better day.

How horrible to be in so much pain. I hope the doctor can help you find relief to your foot pain and that it isn't something you'll have for the rest of your life.

I am so so sorry you are suffering so. I surely hope they find the answer you need. Feel better. I understand when one runs out of medication and how they suffer. I have felt that way before and here we can only get our new prescriptions of medication filled each month and not before. Now, I figure out the number of days after the doctor gives me new prescriptions from the last date I got and then now know when can get. I find most of my medication does not really help all the time, but, being without it is worse for me so until we figure out ways for me to have new medication then I continue with what I have. It is hard to be in pain.
