The Vitamin That Combats Oxidation of the Cell Level, to Counter Aging

From the book in the picture , it is vitamin E .
It was also mentioned that the premier benefit of Vitamin E is its effectiveness against cancer , by decreasing the free radicals in our blood that we get from oxidation.
My father takes 800 IU of it until now , as advised by his alternative doctor before , when he had cancer of the prostate more than 10 years ago .
He is since two years after it was discovered that he has that cancer , already cancer free and his PSA (prostate specific antigen ) is already 0 . Although of course he took the pill for his cancer and have done natural remedies the alternative doctor told him to do .
The listed problems that it can be used to prevent is acne , boils , cold sores , leg pain to mention a few .
The foods sources of vitamin E listed are wheat germ , whole grains and vegetable oils and the book said that when you combine these three sources and eat them throughout the day , you will be able to keep the level in your body high and constant .
I haven’t seen a wheat germ or food with it though.
But I do take 400 IU of vitamin E after breakfast along with my other supplements . I think I should take 2 800 IU also .
Do you take vitamin E ?

I have taken in the past, but do not currently. I wish more research could be done to prove its worth. I get a lot in my diet too, with many of the foods listed by@LadyDuck.

All the doctors have explained to me that it's a lot better to get vitamins naturally from foods or, in the case of vitamin D, controlled sun exposure. Recent research on mineral calcium suggests that it is safest to get it from foods than from supplements. Older women who get high amounts of calcium from supplements seem to have a higher risk of kidney stones and strokes. The only exception is vitamin B-12, because about thirty percent of older people don't properly digest and absorb natural vitamin B-12 from foods.

I don't take vitamin E as such. I understand that I try to take balanced diet and I get ample vitamin E through natural sources of food.

@dpk262006 Same as you my friend. It is scientifically proven that supplements are not as effective as real vitamins.

The American Journal of Medicine reported that the pill can harm us in the long run. We stopped taking it many years ago and eat a more healthful diet. We sprinkle wheat germ on cereal. I love it so much that I eat it from a spoon. It is sold here in a jar.

@enlightenedpsych2 So that's why those with arthritis don't like the cold weather that makes their joints painful , they don't get warm enough .

And can you say that you are healthy in general . If it is then you are doing fine not taking vitamin supplements . My hubby doesn't take any at all . He doesn't like . But he gets colds easily though .
As to my Dad , indeed the Vitamin E helped and all those probiotics and the enemas that the alternative doctor told him to do everyday . But it costs him a lot of money , after a year he dropped the alternative doctor and on his own already .

@changjiangzhibin89 I think so too. In fact , in one local show we have about health there are people testifying that after turning to naturapathy they didn't get operated on , already for their tumors or whatever ails them .

I take a multivitamin for those 50 and over and vitamin D3 5000 IU. I know it makes a difference. I feel well most of the time. I do believe our bodies need supplements, but I also think we need to be balanced as far as what degree we take supplements. For one it can get mighty expensive and we can over do. I get 50 IU in my multivitamin, not sure if that's good or not. But its what I can afford for now. How about you other myLotters do you take a good multivitiamin?
