National Chocolate Cupcake Day

This morning I ate one of the two chocolate cupcakes I bought for National Chocolate Cupcake Day, but only one. By holding back, I proved to myself that despite the pressure and gluttony to which I am routinely subjected to, I remain reliably dedicated and disciplined to self-restraint. I smiled and gave myself a pat on the back for exercising extreme self-control.
I then ate the other one.
What? Did you really think I would buy two cupcakes and eat only one?

I had no idea it was National Chocolate Cupcake Day and we have a a Cupcake shop right across the street from where I work. How did I not hear about this before now? I hope you enjoyed the two of them.

@Happy2BeMe I was stuck in a training class today and didn't have a chance to get onto a computer to post anything today! Sorry! Next time I'll try to post about cupcakes earlier in the day for you!

Is this an International Chocolate Cupcake day or just an American day.
A couple of weeks ago I saw a similar post about coffee.
It turned out to be world wide.
I love chocolate cupcakes. If I bought 2 I would be eating them both.
Your self restraint is to be admired and congratulated.

Our insular wee parochial Scottish Government would need a referendum on it to make sure it was ok with at least 50.01 percent of tbe people.
Some fecking fruitcake somewhere would object because promoting chocolate is not pc.

Darn I didn't know it was National Chocolate CupCake Day. Maybe that's why I saw a Prius on the street with cupcakes on her antenna! But I am sure it's on there year-round but ironically I saw one =)
I had sweets today, but not cupcakes. I had asian pastries!

It's an Asian bakery with French touch! I got a coconut strudel, a milk something pastry with white chocolate inside (it was quite yummy).
I normally get some other ones like taro filling pastries but they weren't available when I went!

@DeborahDiane My parents are/were both the same way. They took it all with a grain of salt, and often joked about their deaths. I guess that's not really something to joke about, but they were lighthearted about it. Hey, we're all going to die, so no sense being all uptight about it!

Congratulations on 45 years of marriage! That is quite a milestone! My parents celebrated their 50th this year, but it was their very last celebration, since my dad passed away last month. But didn't mean to turn this comment sad! This is a happy time for you! Keep your celebration going all month long, and eat all the chocolate you can!

@moffittjc - I'm sorry your dad passed away after 50 years. My husband has several serious health problems and, it may sound morbid, but we have a kind of gallows humor about it. I tell him he has to live until our 50th anniversary so he can buy me some more gold jewelry! Seriously, we both hope he makes it that long.

My college had a bunch of different chocolate cupcakes for national chocolate cupcake day. They had a ice cream sundae, maple bacon one, cherry one, peanut butter banana, and I don't remember the other ones. The ice cream sundae one was my favorite.

@jennyjoy I have a calendar that lists all the "National Days" that are in existence. For example, the calendar tells me that today is "National Reptile Awareness Day" and also "National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day."
