Thankfulness

No rain since the 23 August has had the earth thirsty and arid in most parts of my country, thankfully it rain last night, leaving a fresh smell in the air, telling us "God can hear" Good morning. It's the crack of dawn down here in my Village as I write this but because I have left so many calls for rain, I thought It would be fitting to first give thanks in a thankful way. Hopefully it will continue throughout the day as much more is needed. Just very glad the dry spell is broken. "O bless the morning rain to feed the earth so dry, and let us always be thankful To the heavens and the sky"

My lavenders are looking good in the garden as they are hardy and can flourish on the smallest drops of water

@Inlemay My lavender is still blooming well and as fragrant as ever even though it's not mid October, cold and we've had a very wet summer. They are so hardy.

In my country, it is even drier for now, but, I like it anyway, as long as I have tap water to drink. The heat is more than 30 celsius with small white clouds here and there. If you really are from south Africa, no wonder there is almost no rain there. Watch out from a wild animal out there :-) Africa is well known for the wild life in it and the hot acclimate there. What do you do in south Africa ?

@Inlemay Ballet is nice, though I don't know it, I like some dancing. Do you have pupils who come to learn Ballet ? Can you please bring some photos from around your neighborhood of where you live ? I want to be able to imagine how it looks like.

There has always been a blatant contrast across the globe with some locations desperate for rain while others are fed up with t.

@Inlemay Sure. I just responded to your post where you showed a temple in Japan. I attached almost the same photo but I couldn't see the photo I attached.

Nothing in our area this week, but the air is cooler and there is a cloud build up - so glad that you got some rain. I hope it sticks around long enough to make it useful in the dams

It rains today here too... it's not something that we asked. We had enough rain from Friday until last Monday and now we are back again.

@inlemay The earth smells so good when it rains after a dry spell. It's like learning how flowers smell all over again.

The smell of the first rain on the dry earth is the stuff of songs and poetry. Wish you all a season with the right amount of rain.Ours is getting over and am looking forward to winter.
