So I am taking it upon myself to try to rake some whle my roomies are dog watching their in laws in a different city. I started yesterday for an hour and a half and then I lost sun light.
I am just doing a quick raking job for now because there are ALOT of leaves left on the trees!
I cant decide if its smart to get a head start before they are ALL on the ground or if its silly to even botheruntil allthe leaves have come down. What do you think? Have you started your fall raking yet?

Leaves make great mulch and are great for the compost pile. I tend to leave raking leaves for others. Right now I am ripping out the blackened tomato vines.

It may be a waste of time but at least you are keeping on top of it. You will be busy for the next little while though.

My husband blows the deck off every few days. Then he brings the mower around and mulches the leaves as he cuts the grass. This has been much more effective than trying to rake the leaves. The first year we wer on this property he kept loading the back of his pickup truck and dumping the leaves in the bush. Ten loads later you couldn't tell he had removed any leaves....mulching in place, every few days seems to work well for us.....if we wait more than a few days there are too many leaves.
