A Finish!

I did finish this colorful lockerhook rug. I have it listed in my etsy shop as of this morning too. Pricing is hard for me. I know there is the cost of materials and a lot of time put into the handmade items, but I feel things won't sell if I price them too high. I searched lockerhook rugs and the few I found that are the same size as this one were around $75. I priced mine at $50 plus shipping. Now here's my conundrum.......I'm so itching to start another rug!! I want to make one that is twice as long for a runner rug. I have an idea in my mind. I've been holding off buying more of the rug canvas, but I was paid for working at the local quilt shop during the shop hop with a $50 gift card. As you know, yesterday was my Needlers group at the quilt shop. While I was there I decided to go ahead and buy some things with the gift card. I bought another package of the rug canvas, a package of the lockerhook strings, a 10 pack of fat quarter fabrics, and 2 yards of the clearance fabric I've been eyeing for the quilt as you go string quilt I am working on. I still have $8.50 of the gift card left to use. So, I pulled out the package of rug canvas, but I've not opened it yet. I'm sitting here surrounded by projects that I am already working on----the yellow string quilt blocks, the colorful blocks that need to be pressed and squared up, fashion doll bed sets to complete, and the Lexington quilt blocks that need to be finished. Oh the choices I have!!

Awesome, love it, I hope that you do sell it and many more too. Yes, pricing is hard to figure, all the best with your sale. I need to have a look at your Etsy store now. I remember my grandma showing me how to make rugs, but that was 40 years ago. I was reading some time back, people are more prepared to pay more for handmade items. I'm often surprised when I'm looking through Esty at the prices that people pay. Do you have anything to do with the teams on Etsy, it may well be worth saying in Etsy success team. I guess you could play around with the price but I think you have priced it well.

I am on a team at etsy and I get emails, but can't honestly say that I've paid much attention to what the teams are even all about.

@kevin1877uk I had to go look. I am on the Love Handmade Team. Also a squidoo team, but as I said, I've not really paid attention to the teams. So many things to do and so little time!

Trying to sew today amidst distractions and having to leave when not expected. I had hoped to have these quilt blocks sewn into tops by the end of today.

@just4him I didn't make it that day and they aren't all the way done, but both have all the rows sewn and just need to be sewn the rest of the way. They are packed in my bags for the quilt retreat.
