Has Anyone Ever Used Heat Patches for Their Joints or Muscles?

If I could get consistent with my exercises then I probably wouldn't need to use these, but I bought the one on the left recently and was amazed at how well it worked. I then bought the one of the right and have been using that one too. They claim to work for different things, but I've been putting them on the side of my knee where it hurts the most. The majority of that area is bone not muscle and the heat patch on the right works best at night.
I'm finding my pain pills aren't doing the job anymore so I quit using them. These patches have been on sale recently as a buy-one-get-one half off. Both say not to use them more than eight hours at a time in a 24 hr period. I'd like to use them around the clock, but will be good until I talk with my doctor about them.
I took another picture of the one on the right on my knee, but you will see that when I post about finding a good exercise for my quads.
There are about ten different brands of these patches ranging from a few dollars up to ten dollars or more.
Does anyone happen to know exactly, or thereabouts the time the notifications drop off the grid from the week before? It doesn't seem to be exactly midnight, but I don't remember where mylot originates if it's the west coast that would mean I have a few hours after midnight to get to them when behind.

@crazyhorseladycx How many days 'way before that' do your notifications leave, Crazy? Weird is what I'd call that. Now, sometimes my page is still loading and If I don't notice that it's still loading it appears that it's cut off shorter than seven days back. Usually it does catch up, the pages loading that is.

It's normally about seven days before they disappear, but I've been here around midnight or after and still saw them hanging around.

@paigea Sometimes I feel the need to have something on while working and that's when the pads come in handy as you surely wouldn't wear a heating pad while working. I may decide to purchase something that I can either microwave or put into the freezer that wraps around different body parts, but that's expensive to buy the unit too although if it eliminates the need for the boxed type that would be a savings overall.
Problem is the one that you decide whether to have cold or hot only lasts about an hour whereas the pads will stay warm on the skin for about eight or more hours.

I'm now using a heating pad either at the beginning of the night or the end and switch it up with a bag of frozen peas. Both used either way together works well. I use the heat patches while working. I may purchase a reusable thing that can be heated or cooled down and that wraps on more than one body part. Those cost a bit more, but it would be worth it if it eliminated having to have the others so often.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, it seems like quite an expense, That is why I haven't tried them.

There are like fifteen types in the store where I work. Some are just heat patches with menthol and others are icy/hot ones. There are also creams made by most of the brands too.

I have a heating pad too, but can't wear that to work. These worked great the first few days but don't seem as effective any longer. It could be that I overdid my exercises or that I still need to do a combination of ice and heat.

@MarshaMusselman You should ask a doctor, not all the time the heat is a good solution.

They drop off the time, seven days later, that they were posted. So you see a few drop off at a time. I noticed that once when I was that far behind. I would work on a notification and go back and find the number a lot less. So it's not all at once.
I'm glad the patches are working for you.

Ahh, I didn't think that it could be exactly seven days and the correct amount of hours later. I'll have to keep that in mind.

@just4him Wow, have you ever gotten that caught up before? I've always read where you were 300 hundred or so behind. I usually catch up each week and then get behind again, but now it's been several weeks since I was caught up. At present, I have 60, and many are duplicates in mentioned and commented and likes the same post, and I've got to get back to the ones on the bottom as they'll drop off later tonight.
Since I have the whole day off, that shouldn't pose any problem for today anyway.

@MarshaMusselman In fact I'm at the point that I should be on today's notifications finally, but the time has filtered down to yesterday still. I have a few more to go before I hit 20 hours. So that would be how they would drop off as well.

I wouldn't be able to get in or out of a tub. I use both the heat patches or a heating pad or ice in the form of a bag of peas right on the sore bones. It's not an injury, but bone on bone within the knee. Some work better than others. I'm finding exercise is the best option, but the heat patches at night do make a difference for me. It may depend on what type of injury you had.

Exactly, Marie. The one on the right takes thirty minutes or so to heat up and it's still warm on the skin even when it's removed. I've been suing ice on my knees, but it's amazing how much better it is after using these patches.
