How many plates are you juggling today?

I sat down for a brief rest and a quick cup of tea after lunch today and cast my eye around the room, noting all the jobs still needing my attention:
• The ironing was waiting to be taken upstairs and put away.
• Yesterday’s washing was waiting to be ironed.
• There were things on the veranda that needed to be brought in as rain was threatening.
• I had cleaned the kitchen but the floor had to be mopped.
• The lunch things needed to be washed up.
These were the things that had to be done, but there were extra ‘plates’ that I had yet to throw into the air:
Check my emails, check my notifications on MyLot, make the beds (!) remove Lucy’s cat fur from my husband’s office chair, finish putting away my summer clothes, make the evening meal and try to find half an hour to study my Greek lessons. The latter is always left until last and rarely accomplished because by then all this juggling leaves me too tired to do anything else but flop into a comfortable chair and recover. That makes 12 plates for me, how about you?

If this is what you manage when you are unwell then you must be something close to Wonder Woman when you are feeling on top of things! Just reading what you do makes me feel my age! I haven't counted your plates but it must be a massive dinner service. LOL

@crazyhorseladycx And I expect when you were hurtling around like a hurricane you took your good health for granted, as we all do. Even slowed down you still get through a lot of jobs...

There is lots that I should be doing today, including going to work but I was put on a few days bed rest as per doctors orders so nothing will be getting done today. I will be laying in bed, resting and mylotting for most of the day.

I trust you have been a good girl and stayed in bed as the doctor ordered. Jobs can be neglected for a long while but your health cannot be ignored.

I think we are all much busier than our mothers were in the days when they had time to sit and knit.

I did the laundry on Monday and ironed the day after. I need to wash the kitchen floor and to clean up what is still in the vegetable garden, before the cold comes in. I also have to prepare the muffins for breakfast, I should not be here reading myLot posts.

The problem is that MyLot is more interesting than doing the laundry or the kitchen floor. There is a lot of work to do outside too with the weather changing, I hope your hubby also likes working in the garden.

I also wash one day and iron the next. I don't like it to pile up. You were reading MyLot before breakfast?

@41CombedaleRoad I take my breakfast at 6 in the morning every day. I think that you are 1 hour ahead Switzerland.

I had someone to do the housework once a week between hip operations, now both are far behind me I wanted to get back to the housework. Even so my heart is elsewhere when I am doing it...

I only have three plates today.... and non of them are too taxing lol... especially the first one... or the third one... but for number two...I may need a bit more focus and enthusiasm..or it might get bumped to tomorrow...or the next day ....

My number two is on the backburner at present. The dogs don't get walked, they are free to run although they don't go far because we don't let them loose unless they are hungry and hunger keeps them close to the kitchen door.

I think about 15 plates today, but some will fall to the ground and smashed as I am a poor juggler when my list gets so long.

Wow you have a lot to do! I have to vacuum, home school my kids, do some Mylotting, wash dishes, give the baby a bath, grade worksheets from the kids work yesterday, take the baby to his doctor appointment and we have to go to the Laundromat too.

I think you are doing better than I am, as you have kids to organize too. Try to have an easier day tomorrow so you don't get overtired.

most of my juggling is financial - lots of bills to pay in the next few days mostly by direct debit but a few by hand too - preparing my pub signs talk, and pursuing voluntary work as well

When I retired I thought I would have lots of time for relaxing but we are just as busy every day doing something.

We won't even discuss that unless you mean my two story house that needs scrubbing top to bottom, fresh bread to bake, two rooms of junk to sort and the changing of summer to winter clothes and the beat goes on. Other than that I ma right now trying to ignore it all and pounding on the keyboard while watching a movie.

Well done Rasma, although pounding the keyboard while watching a movie is a hard act to follow.

When I was studying for an important piano exam once, I used to get up, get the kids off to school then sit down and practice. I found that I still managed to get (most) other things done.

I want to hoover up but it is late here and the hoover is very noisy so it would disturb others in the neighboring flats so it will have to wait until morning
