Searching For Keyboards Brought Back Memories

When I typed 'keyboard' in the Pixabay search box, the results showed not just pictures of desktop computers, laptops, and cellphones ... ... but also pianos, typewriters and accordions, things that my siblings and I grew up with that my nieces and nephews probably don't see, hear, or know to use. A mix of memories. Did you see objects from your past lately that made you pause and reminisce?

I still have my old manual typewriter, it can always come handy... in case of lack of power if I have to type something.

i think we gave it away years ago, but i did experience using the big heavy ones with long carriages. the few times i had to use an electric typewriter i didn't like it. my hands felt numb afterwards.

It's surprising the things that can send us off down 'Memory Lane'. I haven't seen anything lately that I can think of, but I regularly think about my past.

it was totally unexpected. sometimes the search results give weird pictures that make you wonder how it relates to the tags, but this time the images triggered a flashback.

I was actually looking at my wedding album few hours back and I could not help but remember the sweet memories of my wedding that took place 30 years ago. It was like only yesterday.

now you remind me of two songs by the carpenters - it's 'yesterday once more' and 'we've only just begun' i hope your wedding album is still in good condition.

I am looking at our old piano right now. It reminds me of my son's piano lessons and my practicing for my father. I still use an old table top hairdryer, but only when I deep condition my hair. I had it from my college days.

do you and your son still play the piano? we all had lessons, but once it stopped, we stopped playing, too. i had to search tabletop hairdryer. i think i've seen them in beauty parlors here. wow. talk about superior quality!

@hereandthere No, we rarely play the piano anymore. Just a piece of furniture to dust. Lol about the hairdryer. It looks like a space helmet. Lol!

Somewhere out in the shed I still have the old typewriter that I used to get my first sales as a scriptwriter. The hardest part of switching from manual to electric in later years was remembering that I didn't have to hit the keys as hard!

i remember the racket it made in a quiet office. i think that's why i like desktops and keyboards than laptops.

@hereandthere My first electronic keyboard was a little Canon word-processing typewriter with 4 fonts. You would type a whole line and when you got to the end of that, it would print it on the paper. Some people were fascinated just to watch it!

While Halloween costume shopping at second hand stores recently, I came upon some neon items - like neon suspenders. Oh gosh, neon clothing was such a fad in the 80s . . . and I had my share of neon shirts at the time - even suspenders .

@hereandthere Reversible jeans . Oh yes, I remember those teeth belts! Sometimes they were hard to fasten! I bought the buckle and then got the belt part from a fabric store in different colors - much cheaper than buying the whole belt at the store!

oh, yes, i've had my share of neon clothes, now i remember my yellow and brown reversible jeans. i never wore suspenders, but i remember the multicolored belts with the metal buckle with teeth, instead of holes.

Whenever i visit my parents at our hometown , that's the time when i get to see a lot of things that remind me of the past . That's because some of them were still in use by my nephews .

I saw an old typewriter online and told my husband that having a typewriter in the 70s was a dream which didn't come true .. And he surprised me with one a couple of weeks ago ..I can't wait to use it...

As we've been away and visiting museums, I have seen quite a few things that I knew and used as a child. It sometimes seems a bit strange to see them now in museums.

@hereandthere You have a good memory! Yes, we still have our piano. I don't know what will happen to it when we go. Neither of our sons will be able to take it even if they'd like to.
