I am being watched!

Don't give me that look.
I am not crazy!
I can feel two eyes boring at the back of my skull. I can feel the goosebumps and my skin crawling.....that tingle! I can see a silhouette of a person through the corner of my eyes.
OMG! It's coming closer!
But I won't look up to confirm my suspicions. I can't. I can only stare down at the food in front of me.
I have a spoon. I wonder whether it would make a nice defense weapon? Should I give it a try?
Probably not!
And I am still being watched...........SMACK!
Me: Ow! What the hell? *rubbing my head*
Mom: Finish your food
Me: I will
Mom:
Me: *scowl*
Mom:
Me: Fiiiiiiiiiine *takes an enormous bite*
Do you like to give the creeps to your picky eater kid like that?
How successful are you in your goal to make the kid finish their food?
What tactics do you employ to get your child to eat the stuff he/she dislikes eating but is necessary for nutrients?

I give kids what they want. If they don't want to eat even that ..too bad...let them starve...they will come around...they always do...like kiddo is offered something that he likes, he says no...let me see what else you have...the two go on exploration ...and finally he comes and takes what was offered in the first place. I feel so intelligent. In an unrelated note, I think DE must have looked like that kid in the picture when he was that young..

@HAPPSINGH ... My little friends are just like that...they have to open the fridge, deep freeze, and they have to go to the kitchen open the cupboard where I keep eatables, verify what is there ..they think I am not offering them what they like..lol. Little one just follows her bros footsteps...no brain of her own. The boy thinks I am kind of denying him something. lol. Why would I when I know what he likes...insane..

Well I don't have a kid as you very well know but I do try to make Charlie eat cause he sometimes doesn't touch his food. I find that bringing Leilah in, she will try to eat his food, which makes Charlie want it more lol

@VivaLaDani13 Even as an adult I am a pain when it comes to eating. I try to change it but lot it's not in my hands. My body doesn't co-operate.

I tried everything with my youngest daughter just as my mother had tried everything with me. I think that after all, they eat enough so as to be healthy. Maybe they don“t like spinach but they will eat an orange or a banana.

@marguicha That's a good point.
Eating something is better than nothing. But eating healthy is important too.

@ms1864 It doesn't always work with me. I can detect even a slightest change in the taste.

It is perhaps possible to add more condiments and seasonings that he likes to something that he does not like ? Many children find vegetables bland because they eat too much sugar, so the solution might be less sugar. Finally, if a child does not really like something, there is no reason to force him to eat it.

@topffer I do like variety! So it might work.
Since we eat spicy food.....non-spicy would be bland and difficult to consume lol

@Daljinder My eating habit changes with time... I used to hate vegetables, now it's my favorite... But some habit does remain the same throughout my life... I've never liked milk and I still don't...

@sishy7 Ha! That's what my Mom did too.
I am afraid I might give into my kids easily too....if I have any in future. So, preparing myself in advance to get them to eat healthy without having to force them or giving into them.
I am definitely not a healthy eater and pickiest at best.

thankfully i'd no picky eaters 'n the grands were easy to please 's well. forcin' somebody to eat somethin' jest aint right :( i've 'd some encounters with those picky folk though 'n usually a 'try a bite 'f this first' worked. they didn't always change their minds 'bout certain foods, but't least they tried :)

@Jenning If any future kid of mine had a brain like mine, he/she might.
He/ she might even give a long blank stare.

@XinfulThotz Only once in my lifetime...Mom experimented and I didn't detect it..Needless to say, I grew more suspicious after that. So, I first examine the food before eating it.
