Have you had money taken out of your bank account without you knowing? (part 3) 175.27 CNY about £21.18 ($27) had been taken out of my account from a company in China, What, yes China, I wouldn’t have known but with it saying 175.27 CNY and “Non-Sterling transaction fee £0.42”. I checked my email, no emails confirming any purchases I had made on that day or from China. I do buy online but not from China. I checked PayPal seeing my account is connected to my bank account but nothing there. Back on the phone to my bank and now they are looking into it. If I hadn’t had a new card come in the post, I wouldn’t have known anything about it. I don’t check my bank statements, but I will be doing in future. They did say the money could be back in my account as early as Friday but within 14 days. Have you have had money taken out of your bank account without you know?

I have, but I knew the company, sadly, despite not authorizing that, I never could get the money back. I have them blocked now, they can no longer bill me for whatever they feel like

@hereandthere yes they were, no I had not, and I should have done my research before I bought a thing from them

How do they manage that..beats me. In a way I am glad that I am in India. Indian rupee is not as valuable as dollar or pound.

Good thing you got a new card and found out .. you should check your bank statements. I do here and there and skim to make sure they're items I bought.

@kevin1877uk Yes just skim quickly to see the costs that's what I do briefly

This is weird, I had things debited to my credit card without authorisation and they were credited back, but no one can have access to my bank account.

@kevin1877uk It's anyway strange that they were able to use your account.

@LadyDuck I guess it could be someone in a shop which took my details from the card and then used them which I had been in. It could be a number of things.

We once had £600 taken out on our credit card, which was a bit of a shock.

@5thHouse Glad, it was quickly spotted. Yes so true you don't know who you are giving your cards to.

@kevin1877uk It was a bit of a shock but luckily we spotted it quickly and the credit card company were able to sort it out. It does make you realise how vulnerable we are though whenever we make payments online or hand our card over to pay a bill in a restaurant.

Without the member consent or authorization withdraw from account is purely cheating.

Thankfully, this has never happened to me. In this tech world we have to watch all our financials like a hawk. A reason why I don't really like modern tech.
