Insurance on contact lenses

Do you remember when there was insurance available on contacts? I had insurance back in the late 70s and good thing I did. My contact popped and cracked right in my eye. I was able to replace it for $30. The latest time I bought lenses there was no insurance. Image is from pixabay.

I did not know that was an actual thing, but aren't contacts pretty cheap now anyway? I know my old friend used to get her contacts for 15 bucks for a few pairs.

It depends on the prescription. Mine were $300.

@OreoBrownie That is crazy! I cannot get contacts because I have astigmatism and my eyes dry out super fast haha

No, I don't. I haven't heard anything about them in years.

Okay. Maybe it's not as well known as I thought.
