Have you ever been blamed unfairly?

Wrongly blamed for no fault of your own and punished for it? Would you mind sharing the incident? Did the truth ever come out? I only have one incident which I still remember quite vividly. It was in Grade 7. I was so engrossed in my school work that I didn't notice that a new teacher has entered the room. As it is customary, all the students are supposed to stand up and greet her or him. Everyone stood up but I didn't. Since the teacher that has entered the room has noticed the girls around me talking. She assumed I was involved too. Sometimes when I recall that incident it bothers me because I wasn't guilty! And nope! Truth never came out. (Photo by Me)

One I recall vividly.. In my third employment, which I joined under my distant cousin, there was this receptionist, she told me that she was not earning enough..and so I voiced her concern to my cousin. A few weeks later a large meeting was called. I was happy thinking staff meeting means may be some earning revision. Instead, my cousin humiliated me in front of the entire staff saying nobody is special. Hmm. I needed the job and I stuck to it because of my financial position. It made my position weak among the staff members because I was the only one humiliated left and right by others and I could not take it to anybody. I stuck through with it. I left the job when I was slightly better off, and my cousin invited me, did I go? NOPE..LOL. 8 years of humiliation by colleagues and not asking help from cousin. Not going to forgive that. We never met again...NEVER. More than 12 years.

@vandana7 Humiliation is one of the worse kind of punishment. The memory doesn't go away easily and the forgiveness does not come easily!

My last full time job, I got blamed for everything that went wrong. My coworkers had wanted a coworker's friend to get hired but I got the job instead. They reported to the bosses that anything wrong was my fault. Eventually they got me fired so that the friend could get my job.

I'm sorry for that injustice that you experienced for no other reason than your coworkers malice.

Yes, I have... and no, the truth never came out. I was fired instead of getting the chance to explain what really happened. SMH! And yes, it still upsets me!

@Daljinder Sometimes, that is the way business works, even in a somewhat enlightened society. The innocent still shoulder the blame for the guilty. I suppose it is their way of making sure the right person wins in life. IDK.

@DaddyEvil The snatching away of that "one" chance to explain everything is evil!

That's sad. My incident - It was my very first job ever. I was working away from home as a nurse's aid in a home for retarded people. It was a lot of fun actually. I totally enjoyed it. Anyway, someone accused me of watching TV and violating the dress code - wearing knee socks instead of pantyhose. I did neither, but I was still fired because of the accusations.

@Daljinder I had a harsh supervisor, so that job lasted all of 3 months and I was back home and looking for another job, which I found and yes, was fired from that one too because I wasn't 'fast' enough. My mom actually found out that wasn't the reason why I was fired, but they couldn't come out and fire me for the reason they actually did, at least not on paper. I could have sued them and won. Mom found out I was fired because I was going into the military. Something you cannot be fired for. So they found a different reason they could put on paper.

@just4him Lets' suppose for a minute that you did actually did it....it still is not something to fire someone for. A warning perhaps but not straight out firing them.

@amandajay Some people do not see the truth even if it is right in front of them. They deliberately stay obtuse or are ridiculously oblivious! Stupid people!

This must have happened at some time, but I cannot recall any incident. As a general rule I have usually been guilty.

I was 'temping' in an office in London some years ago. One of the girls in the room declared that money was missing from her drawer and pointed out that as I was the only one in there alone it must have been me. As 'temping' depends on good references I did not let the matter drop. I went to the office manager and asked her to call the police! They didn't of course and when my short term with them was over I was glad to move on. Some months later I met one of the girls who had been in that previous office and she told me that the girl had once again declared that money had been stolen. This time they investigated and the girl was lying because she thought the office would re-imburse her for the money.

That was just wrong. We were staying at a relatives house and their garage door was open a little bit since the first day and remained that way the whole time we were there. One day the husband came home and told me when I go in the garage to get food out of the freezer to shot the door. I told him I had never been in the garage and the door was always open. Boy did he give me a strange look. The door was still open when we left.

@Daljinder That would annoy me too. I don't like having someone make me feel guilty when I wasn't. Especially when they don't even give me the chance to prove myself. And yeah I have many. But think you know who it would all involve so I wont get into it.

@VivaLaDani13 Being punished by someone you idolize is bad on top off being punished unfairly.
