The electoral college in the US evens the playing field between states in the US. Otherwise some states that are dramatically impacted by certain laws would have no say over population powerhouses like California. In the case of the 2000 election where both the popular vote and the electoral vote were close, there was a recount called because it was such a close margin that a few votes really were what could have been the deciding factor. In the terms of this election the Electoral votes were 290 with Trump to Hillary's 228. You need at least 270 to win, and the result wasn't even close. Hillary did win the popular vote, by 200,000 votes, but the weight of those came from large states like California and New York. The economies in both those states would never adequately reflect the rest of the nation and such a model would not only destroy the country's economy, but ripple throughout the world and create a global recession of epic proportions. Some of the key states (like mine) helped decide the vote. The rest of the world may want Hillary, but the rest of the world doesn't really have a say.

@SHOHANA While he's not exactly my ideal person for the job I did vote for him. I have objectives and plans that would have been difficult to execute with Hillary in the White House. Also I'm sick of the welfare infection in the country and if Trump is able to bring corporations back and increase jobs by doing so, then those living off my tax money will start to disappear. Also my father will be given a break by taxes on the middle class being eased a bit. He's the hardest worker I know of anyone, and his taxes have only gone up every year under Obama's administration. I have also seen many businesses crushed by the economy created. And the number of people that want work but can't find it are going up all the time. Hillary planned to tax corporations and charge them more for leaving the country. She wanted to raise the taxes on the middle class. She wanted free education, but someone has to pay that, and it would be people already strangled by taxes like my father. I'm not to my father's level yet, but I hope to surpass him one day through my efforts and I don't want to have my hard earned money stolen by people that do nothing. What's more, I'm sure the EPA under Hillary's administration would have gained even more power, and that would have made my plans for defeating climate change impossible. It's an overlord that I would be happy with if it were to disappear. Just to note that I respect women, I tend to think of people as people and not by race, I have no problems with homosexuals (I have a gay friend, several bi friends, and a few lesbian friends), Transsexuals are just people (I even support one by purchasing their products), and I want the class wars to be over by reducing the cost of living for everyone and I want the environment to be healthy and supported (I drive a hybrid car). Trying to lump everyone into a category is unhealthy because it's not true.

I think they talk too much, even about Indian affairs. Sharing their opinion is fine, one cannot take that right away from them, but this bid to be the opinion maker is outright annoying and I won't feel bad when they become object of hate for mass population.

In fact both Trump and Hillary have their own fans. Do these Bollywood celebrities disagree with Trump since he has some bad rules for Indians? But on the other hand, he may do this for the benefits for Americans. So there is nothing wrong with him.

I think Bollywood celebrities are the only people with strong opinions about POTUS Trump. Your conversation is dated Nov 10, 2016. Today is June 17, 2017. There has been no rest for the weary since Trump took the oath of office. It's going to be a really long 4 years.

Do they live in the United States? I think that if the people of the United States decided that he must be the President, those living in the other countries should accept their decision.
