I love doing the cyber schooling with my son I'm learning things along with him. My memory is terrible so I could have learned these things before but I do not remember them. His school day started by watching a Bill Nye the Science Guy video in homeroom. I used to love that show when I was young but my son was not impressed and was in a terrible mood this morning! His first class of the day was History at 8:50. They talked about the 5 Military Branches and Veterans Day. I learned about the Berry Amendment where all uniforms for the military have to be made in the United States. I loved learning that! His last class was from 10:30 until noon and it was a ELA (Language Arts) assessment. His only homework was a Social Studies lesson. At my daughters school it was a half day for parent teacher conferences. My son and I ate lunch and the anxiety of leaving the house started so we never left the house until around 2. Our first stop was to a place to drop off a few donations that were taking up too much room in the back of my van. The main reason we went out today was to take bags of Halloween candy my children did not want to an orthodontist office and each were given $5 for their bags. The candy will be sent to the military troops in Kuwait. We headed to Walmart to get a few groceries and my son spent his money on Pokemon cards. On Thurdsdays Denny's has kids eat free night. My son is the only one eligible for the free kids meal. My daughter had an enormous Build your own Grand Slam meal. I usually never buy myself anything while we are out but they had a Pumpkin pancake dish that looked amazing so I chose that. It came with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. It was delicious but very filling. Our last stop of the night was to Chuck E Cheese so they could play for a bit. We all had a nice day. It's about 9:15 pm here. My kids are showered. I am heading there next and then we will go to bed.

Sounds like a very good day. I started home schooling my 4 children about 4 years ago. I love the flexibility that home schooling offers.

Homeschooling is way more flexible but to hard for me. I like the cyber schooling. He sits from 8:30-noon online most days. 75% of his school days have been online so far. He is doing well so I hope this was the right choice I made by pulling him out of the public school.

I thought it was a bit strange that you were taking candy to the orthodontists but I understand now. What a good idea.

Wow busy day. I remember doing the kids eat free thing with my kids it was so much fun. Your pumpkin pancakes sound yummy. I miss going to Chuck E cheese I enjoyed going and taking my kids. I would print coupons offline and we would get so many tokens once they we're gone they got to spend the tickets they earned or save them for a big prize.

We would go so often that instead of spending their tickets each time and getting a junky little toy or piece of candy we save them up and on their birthdays we spend them and then they get one of the big prizes.

What a great idea to send the candies to the military. At first I was surprised they were bringing the candies to an orthodontist office.

A lot of kids probably want to enjoy going trick or treating but ones with braces can't have much candy as it will break them. So this way they can get something for exchanging it and feel good about sending it to the troops.

It sounds like you had a fun but exhausting day. I remember taking my now adult children to Chuck E Cheese when they were young. I had almost as much fun as they did.

When my kids were little Chuck E Cheese had a play area for toddlers where there was a slide and ball pit. They also had sky tubes around the ceiling for older kids to crawl around in and slide down the big slides. Neither is there now. There is no free fun anymore this way. Once my kids were done with their coins they would play in the tubes but not anymore.

@shaggin I haven't been to Chuck E Cheese in years and I do remember it the way you described it. Sorry to hear that they changed everything.

Thank you. My ex and I are back together and so he stayed here last night. I didn't sleep well so I look forward to bed soon.. Today there was a ton of work to do for my son for cyber school. We just got done and skipped the extra 20 minutes of reading as there just isn't time.

Today our internet and landline phone were out from the time we woke up until about 4pm. My god was my son miserable. He was up late last night then did not sleep in so he was tired and so I had to deal with him crying pretty much the whole day. I cried myself a few times!

My kids were thrilled to get $5 for the bags of candy they didn't want. Quite a few dental offices do it around here. I know one place doesn't give money buy they collect the unwanted candy to make candy houses at Christmas time to display around the museum.

It is the second quarter now. We didn't so cyber schooling much of the first quarter so I don't know if it was like this but wow is there a lot of work the past 2 days. Today there is online classes scheduled up until past 1pm. Then I know we will have at least homework in spelling, writing skills, literature & comprehension as well as vocab. Yesterday we missed the last class and had all the homework I just wrote as well as math and science. It took us up until my sons bedtime to get it done and we didn't have time to do the writing. Thats way to much work for a 9 year old. He barely had any time to play. We didn't have any time to squeeze in an art or music class that was listed on his plan for the day but that isn't graded so if we don't have time we wait until another day.

Cyber Schooling is like an online school? I liked the idea of sending the sweets to the troops...that is both literally and metaphorically sweet.

Yes cyber schooling is sort of a combination between public school and home schooling. 75% of his work is done on a computer the rest is offline with books etc.
