It must be a fashion because not only did @crazyhorseladycx post about her beautiful new Owl finding its way to her collection of critters, but also I gifted my son and daughter-in-law a hand panned metal one for their garden wall, just the other day.
A few weeks ago I found this "owl" in a gift shop. I decided it would be perfect for the door of my "Wise Room" which is the spare room in the house where the piano, violin, saxophone and study desk are found. Together with some other memorabilia like the tambourine's, my 'red tap shoes', my eldest daughters very first ballet shoes and my youngest daughters Spanish 'castanets' lay displayed on the top of the piano. Its the room where wisdom is nurtured. The creative Room, the one that has its walls full of my Europe photos and a bed that sleeps my grandchildren when they come to visit.
On the unique plaque, made from canvas and mounted on a METAL frame, the words of the song "You are my sunshine" are written - Ironically the song I have sung to my children all the years they were at home.
It was the perfect find and such an owl'ling pleasure.
Although the room is not filled with books - Mark Twain gives a great explanation on how I feel the room should present itself.
"In a good bookroom you feel in some mysterious way that you are absorbing the wisdom contained in all the books through your skin, without even opening them.”
~ Mark Twain
Good Sunday to you all.
Keep it real!
