So much tado about past presidents and how good people think they were well here's one that should NEVER have had his photo on one of USA's popular bills, the $20.
I do have to wonder why we weren't told about his brutality in history classes?
Also, that his actions provided Hitler with his initial ideas to rid Germany of the Jewish people.
Yep, that's Andrew Jackson in the image. Don't let that old man fool you, he was an abomination.

America does have a tendency to glorify it's previous Presidents, often to the extent of distorting history. Abraham Lincoln is known for his emancipation of the slaves, but in reality he could not care less about them and it was a purely politically motivated act.

Jackson wasn't that nice but I can't think of any american past or present president that was worse than hitler as a leader.
There are national leaders on a par with hitler but maybe only one that exceeds him in my opinion and that would possibly be stalin.

Many were really bad in those days for sure @Mike197602 but Hitler got much of his ideas from what happened here in the USA to the Native Americans:
Do history books written by white folks tell the truth about Native people in the US? We think not. Here are just some of the things they fail to mention.

@rebelann I'm not so sure of that.
I think hitlers ideas came from the traditional distrust of jews, the result of the first war and the economy of germany in the 20's.
Maybe some tiny bits of his policy came from american treatment of native americans but in my opinion it wasn't a significant influence on his thinking by any means.

I don't think most Americans grasp or rather want to grasp what truly happened to the Native Americans. It is sad. I will not say that Jackson was worse than Hitler. I think they are on the same playing field.

I have heard about President Jackson. But now the US is killing people beyond its frontiers.

I'm confused. Andrew Jackson lived in the 1830s before the US civil war.

That is very interesting. I never thought about that before.

I understand. Most schools teach only about what other countries infamous leaders have done but few ever broach the subject of what our early leaders actually did and little is taught about the true demise of our Native American heritage.

Jackson has been called the founder of the Democratic Party and was a slave owner.

He sure was as was Washington and quite a few other famous men of those times. I just read this article that makes me want to learn more:
