What a Day

The calendar show the date as November 18. Usually this means cold and often damp. Most years we have had our first snowfall (more than a few flakes) by this date. This year we have had a couple of frosts, but no snow yet.
Today is a gift. The sun is shining! (All my laundry was dried outside!) the temperature is 20C (68F) and I've had my windows open all day. By the end of the weekend there is snow in the forecast, and if the wind and temperatures are what they expect we could see significant lake effect snow.
Today is also the day I began hanging my Christmas wallhangings.
The one pictured was made almost 20 years ago and has decorated our entryway most winters since it was created.
The snowman theme was continued with this wintry wallhanging.
How do you begin your Christmas/winter decorating?

Normally I bring my snowmen out in November, but no decorating for Christmas until December. After last year, I want a little more time to enjoy the season.

That's a beautiful wall hanging. This year I will need to buy all new decorations as I threw everything out before I moved. It wasn't any good anyway, so not worth keeping. I do have a few tree decorations, but not many. I've been looking at decorations for a couple weeks now, so I'll probably start decorating right after Thanksgiving.

Thank you. I really like the wallhanging myself. I've made different ones over the years, but that is still a favourite.

I don't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. It was beautiful here to but my son and I were cooped up all day inside doing school work.

@Morleyhunt I hate clutter. 12 years ago when my daughter was a baby I put all the Christmas decorations away Christmas night after she went to bed.

Usually I don't decorate until after December 1st. Last year I had decorations up from noon Decenber 24th until 10 AM December 27th. This year I'm making up for that lack.

Usually our tree doesn't go up until December. This year is an exception.

It was definitely unusually warm today. We won't start our holiday decorating for at least a week.

This is probably the earliest I have begun to decorate. It must be in response to last years lack.

@Morleyhunt I don't blame you. While I enjoy festive decorations, the little ones make it hard to enjoy when you are constantly replacing ornaments or shooing them away from things.

If you take care of them they stay in remarkable condition.

I'm glad you're having nice weather. We are having lovely sunny days too. Mostly my washing dries outside which is better than having it hanging on the airer.

This time of year most of my laundry ends up in the dryer. Days like today are a gift.
