2 hr delay and cyber school day 18

We got a few more inches of snow last night and the roads weren't very good so my daughters school had a two hour delay today. I made my coffee and shoveled a path down the driveway for my daughter. At 8:15 my son and I began our day of cyber school. In homeroom the kids created a 5 sentence paragraph starting with the words "I am thankful for..". After they completed their writing they could color in a drawing of a turkey. In history the kids presented the projects they created on their state symbols project. Some did posters and some did slideshows. There was a half hour between our next class so I hopped in the shower before Math class started. There was a test in math and once it was completed the kids were free to go. We then had 22 minutes free until the last class which was ELA. We barely made it through ELA as the laptop decided to act up. I forced it to shut down and then ran a scan for viruses and errors. Everything looked fine and ran perfectly after. While the computer issues were going on my som had a nice long break to play outside in the snow. He came inside and warmed up over a cup of hot cocoa. We did three short lessons : spelling, vocab, and writing skills. My daughter came home and we all went to the town library to borrow some movies over the holiday weekend. When we got home my son and I finished up his day of cyber school by doing a PE lesson and gym lesson.

We don't have cable or netflix or anything so my kids love borrowing DVDs from the library to watch. I used to love delays when both of my kids were in public school but now with one in and one not its hard to work around a delay.

@shaggin Yeahmine we're the same way as well. I bet it is I am sure you and your daughter can come up with something for her to do when this happens maybe she could read quietly while your son is doing his school work.

Some people do work from home maybe it is something you could look in to doing? We are supposed to get freezing rain here in about a half hour.

Okay I'm jealous of your snow. I'm glad you had a good school day. I'm glad the computer problems weren't bad.

Yes unfortunately there is no avoiding it where I live. I only go out once a week so it isn't to much a bother for me except the shoveling which is good exercise.

It's terrible when things get delayed and it pushes back everything. I have never experienced snow...don't know how I'll respond. It's nice to get a look at how you spend you day when it's showing outside. Seems it was very productive with a few problems on the computer. Well, glad things worked out for you. As the ancients will say 'This too will pass..." (^_^)

Snow is very very cold. At these temperatures being outside in a coat and forgetting my gloves my fingers get painful within minutes. It makes the roads and sidewalks slippery and dangerous. I do not enjoy snow at all. I used to love playing in it as s kid for hours and hours.
