I can't believe this is happening to me

I was so happy because last week I removed my braces and now... I have to wear removal braces for at least one month and a half. And this is absolutely terrible. It gets full of saliva and it is hard to speak with this in my mouth. I can only take it to eat. I have to wear it night and day, 24 hours per day. Could this be any worse?

Yes, a life of embarrassment and isolation because your teeth aren't what you'd like them to be. This will only be going on for another month or so and then you will have attractive, straight teeth for the rest of your days.

@celticeagle I have no idea. But I know some friends that still use it at night, it has been more than a year.

Just look at it as short term pain for long term gain

I went through braces too. I had to wear a retainer for awhile after the braces came off. It is not pleasant but afterward you'll have great teeth. Speak slowly and don't think about it so much.

That's normal procedure for braces... it seems difficult at first but you'll get the hang of it soon... just think how pretty your straight teeth are now and you want them to stay beautiful - that's what the retainer is for, preventing the teeth from going crooked again because they can still move after the braces are off and I'm sure you don't want that to happen after all the time and expenses you've sacrificed wearing braces...

@fufurinha No, it's not too bad... you'll get used to it... My son had to go through the same, and after the initial 6-week 24/7 he continued to wear the retainers at night for a couple of years - I've never heard him complaining...
