When my grandchildren left, the remote control was not working. (Here I said some heavy bad words in Spanish) They can be translated into "wht, oh, why..." I recharged the batteries. It took a second, they were charged. So I got the flashlight I have in my night table. Originaly I had it in case of earthquakes, now I use it frecuently instead of good eyes. I placed back the batteries an , oh wonder, it worked. So I think that they play with the remote control, the batteries fall and they don´t understand that they have a plus and a minus side. I´m going to see what they have in Netflix. I deserve it. See you.

That sounds about right. My little girl doesn't understand that there are different sizes in batteries. She thinks a AA battery if fine for anything that requires batteries.

Sofía is 6. I think that she started to play with the control and messed it up.

@marguicha So sweet. I love her name. She probably did. It seems that kids would rather play with things like that instead of all of their toys now days. :)

@BRiT89 A remote control is something to be coveted, specially if her older brother is nearby

I did not understand too until it was my father or my brother who taught me about the plus and minus sign.

@annierose We did not have toys with batteries back then, that I can remember.

I think I learned this at school before I had any batteries in my hands. But that was in another era

My nephew plays with the remote control as well. And removes the battery and can't put it back the way it was placed.

I like that you now need the flashlight instead of good eyes whereas once it was in case of earthquakes. Glad you got the remote fixed.

The remote is perfect. I should put a shop to fix controls that are touched by children

@marguicha That would be funny. We should think up a good name for such a shop. :)
