In Search of the Beatles

Lots of tourists to London visit the iconic zebra crossing shown on the front of The Beatles' Abbey Road album cover. You know the one, where Paul McCartney is crossing the road with bare feet.
Using public transport is the quickest way there and if you look at a tube map you will find Abbey Road marked.
Unfortunately, this is the wrong Abbey Road. This one is on the Docklands Light Railway, in East London, whereas the recording studio Abbey Road is in St John's Wood, North London.
For visitors who have taken the wrong train, there is a poster that tells you how to get to the right zebra crossing and includes a few song titles, so you don't lose that Beatles feeling.
Incidentally, I still haven't made a visit to the real Abbey Road zebra crossing!

How I wish I could get there! I've loved The Beatles for most of my life and that particular album cover was always a favorite of mine, like so many others. A friend of mine went to England on his honeymoon and he did take photos crossing the road there. I was SO jealous to see those photos! lol How far away is that from where you live?

Guess it can a be a long and winding road to get to the real Abbey Road.

You know if I ever get to London some summer I will find that crossing and walk it barefoot in honor of Sir Paul.
