So I am trying to figure out ways to make money on the side and I put my application in yesterday at the Amazon Mechanical Turk and today I got approved. Can't wait to start working again. May not be much but every cent helps. Has anyone heard of this? What do you think of it? We will see how it goes. I even work at another site but waiting for work there. Well, gonna go. Later!

Mturk is legit. Its the requesters you have to watch out for. You have the option of sending your money to a bank or adding to your Amazon gift card balance. Some sources that may help

@lovebuglena A requester only has to pay for work done according to their instructions. However, there are those who will falsely claim something was done incorrectly in order not to pay you. One thing to look out for are high paying hits that only require a few minutes of work. There are many addons and scripts that can be used to help you on Mturk. One of those(if you use Chrome or Firefox) is Turkopticon. It puts a drop down menu beside each requester with ratings given to them by other workers.

Thanks. It does pay in Amazon gift cards which I don't mind. They will help. Might do the bank too. Not sure yet

@cupkitties Can some requesters not pay you for the tasks you do?

Basically little piecemeal tasks--tagging or moderating images, helping with educational surveys for colleges and universities, transcribing information from pictures, and the like. Most tasks are fairly low-paying, but once you build up your reputation as a worker you can qualify for a lot more that pay better.

@carebear29 Most grocery stores are able to send a fax for you for a small fee. There are also some programs that let you do it online, but I've never used any of them. Amazon might have a place in the dashboard where you can upload the documents as JPG files, too. The exact information should be available in their FAQ.
