Not sure if the clock has stuck 12 in the USA yet, but here in my part of the world November 2016 has left the building. My Birthday Month is now concluded! Good Morning - I have tried to get through my MANY notifications quickly so that I can see the trend for the day - well it seems that everyone is gearing up for some Festivities, Family and Friends which is wonderful because what would life be without them. My post of yesterday on the New User Discussions got many tongues a wagging and I was over-bowled with the reaction. Great stuff myLot friends, the post did indeed become a topic of discussion - well in my book it did! I am loving all the friends visiting Spain telling us about their Holiday and what better way than to keep all your followers interested, by giving them TRAVEL Writings - Just LOVE IT! Thursday has me doing a few errands and tomorrow I think I might just turn my DIAL to "On Vacation" and slow down all my activities and enjoy the December Festivities. When do you get to turn your dial to "off - on Vacation"?

@LadyDuck It is easy to forget when you are accustomed to a specific time zone.

Lunchtime on Friday 16th December I finish work until 3rd January. That's when the festivities begin for me. Hoping for some cold, crisp, bright weather so I can get out into the hills with Hugo the dog.

I have been on vacation since the second of October. Granted the first parts of that were not fun, but I have enjoyed not working. If I could I'd just be stay home. I do need to start working, hoping to find something 8-5 a few days a week (no weekends)

@xFiacre well- that's what I think . . . and also you always have such deep thoughts about life. Am I correct in saying so?

One of the things I love about this site is people from all over the world writing about experiences in their own personal lives, in their hometowns. It's such a great way to learn about different cultures, different countries, and the way of life for people in different communities than your own. But one thing I've noticed, that despite our different cultures and countries, we have more similarities than we have differences. It's amazing to see that no matter where in the world someone lives, they experience similar highs and lows, have similar joys and fears, and often exhibit the same morals and values.

Yes, November is over, and according to the time when you posted this, it had just turned the month to December here as well. Festivities are indeed in the air, and soon my kitchen will be emitting the smells of Thanksgiving a week late, along with the festive holiday hits coming from my TV to make it feel festive here. I dialed 'off - on vacation' back in October for three days. It was a wonderful trip. I love your picture. Where is that taken, and what exactly is it?

My picture was taken in Germany at a small place where the largest outdoor HSBC made clock stands. It's in the Black Forest area. Just beautiful. That is a traditional Big hat that is worn by maidens in the area. Red balls are for the unmarried and black for the married. My friends are those I always mention who live in Belgium.

@just4him we were told the history by our local friends - which is still a local German Festival tradition today

@Inlemay That is very interesting. I never would have recognized it as a hat without your telling me.

I think I never turn my dial to "off - on Vacation". I can be off a few hours or at most half a day.

Great first day of December! Finally, our "No Shave November" is finally over and our shave and razors are back to business...lol. What I am expecting to see this Christmas month are the young carollers who will be visiting every house in our neighborhood.

It is December 1 since this morning here . Everyone seems to be excited of our office Christmas party . Actually , this year we don't have much of a Christmas vacation because 24 and 25 will be Saturday and Sunday respectively and that goes with 31st and New Year too .
