I listen to vinyl records. I have a flip-phone. I watch VHS tapes. I drive a 28 year-old vehicle. Life is good, And uncomplicated. I may be Leroy Jethro Gibbs in disguise.

You would have difficulties here with a 28 years old car : cars before 1997 are forbidden in many cities. But at 30 years they become collector cars and are authorized again.

The car we got rid of last year was a '90! I think my dad's truck (still running) is even from the late 80s!

@much2say These cars are alright, but they are considered to pollute too much, and they are forbidden in large cities like Paris, except during weekends... for the moment : after January 1st, a sticker will be needed on the car for Paris and a few other cities, and they will not be given for old cars, so a 28 years old car will not be able to enter anymore without risking a ticket. It is unfair for people having no money to buy a more recent car.

@much2say You did the right thing. I also would not take the risk to sold a car to someone who might be killed in a stupid game like street racing. I would feel responsible somewhere if something bad was happening.

You're such a hipster Btw if you were truly old school, you'd have one of those original mobile phones that required a backpack to carry them about

@JolietJake Buying/selling stolen goods is big business round here, people shoplift and then visit local pubs touting their wares

Used to have a suitcase mobile...for a minute...almost...until I found out it was stolen and I told the guy trying to sell it to me to get out of my house and don't come back again

I love it - older technology, good uncomplicated life, and how this entire discussion fits on the preview without in disguise...

@JolietJake It's 170 characters (with spaces) up to the 'e' in 'disguise'...

I hadn't looked until you mentioned it, but yer correct. I believe we get 170 characters for the preview...it makes it a bit tricky if I am trying to 'hide' what the discussion is really about.

I have graduated from a flip phone to a smart phone. I drive a one year old van....I watch VHS movies. I wind my mantel clock once a week. I hang my clothes on the clothesline to dry. I make most of my meals from scratch....I'm old fashioned, but not afraid of technology..I am technologically challenged .

I don't care for 'smart' phones...if they were that smart, I wouldn't be getting calls from people accidentally. Since I am one of those that prefers a phone simply as a device to make calls with, I had been wanting to get another flip phone for a few years.

@JolietJake I guess I'd be impressed (or not) if I knew what closed captionning was.

Sounds perfect to me, why do people like all that complicated stuff? The sad thing is when ever I try to live the simple life, people tell me I am not thinking big enough and not using all my full potential. Hey jackasses., you live your life and I will live mine. All complicated ever gave me was a headache.

Love vinyl records, love the bits of static and such. My van is 21 years old and going strong. My sons will answer texts but rarely phone calls, so I did have a smart phone, wasn't so darn smart in my opinion. So I went back to a new old school cell phone with a physical keyboard, but would much rather have a flip phone, it's just to hard to text. I have a ton of VHS but no machine.

One of my most favorite characters in television series. I drive a truck that is 18 yrs old, but I bought a car earlier this year for commuting back and forth to work that is 2 yrs old. I got rid of all the vinyl records and VHS tapes before moving to Colorado almost 3 yrs ago. I haven't had a flip phone in years, but my husbands personal phone is a flip phone, which he swears by. I think back to when I was growing up and think times were so much simpler and even though it was a struggle people seemed happier. The good old days.

Hey those old VHS tapes are a real treasure. While I have a working player I watch my favorites over and over and really enjoy myself. No car here we cannot afford one now, Just a plain old mobile and yes, life is really good.

That's definitely the way to go. Some people definitely need to de-clutter their lives. I'm in the process of doing it myself. Not sure either mine nor Mrs WorDazza's car will make it to 28 though.
