Tonight I had a discussion about the old logo for hot spring in Japan. Many tourists felt confused to it. As it looks like the hot drink or noodles for it. Now Japanese government wants to change the new logo for hot spring. You can see it from the attached image. What do you think about this new logo? Is it clear? Will you think that it refers to cook human beings?

Yes I think the new symbol is much better and less confusing. It does look like people drowning in their coffee though...

@marguicha I feel bad to our imagination. Do you think that Japanese government will change this new logo again?

Yes I saw the new logo on a TV news report. (My husband likes to watch the Asian news. It show on our PBS channel (PBS = Public Broadcasting Service). I understand that the locals don't like it because they have been so accustomed to the logo over the years and they feel like a bit of history is being thrown away. Of course, the western tourists love it! The old logo caused a lot of confusion for them. That last comment you made about cooking humans reminded me of a scene from a TV miniseries “Shogun” where they boiled “the barbarian”. That series aired in 1980. That was such a scary scene, I never forgot it!

I tended to make it as a joke and I have never wanted to remind you of any horror scenes

@youless - Yeah. I knew that was how you meant it but that scene popped into my head. I couldn't stop it!

I think that the new logo is fine. Shows it for what it is.
