Busy Week Ahead ... What About You?

With Christmas only two weeks away, things are going to be crazy for me over the next two weeks. Here are a few of things we have going on:
Attending water polo games for our granddaughter, who is a Junior in High School. (Picture of her playing, above. She is #13 in the red cap.)
Four Christmas parties and gift exchanges ... all of them between now and the 18th.
Having two of our grandchildren spend the weekend with us on the 16th through 18th.
Attending a couple of holiday performances.
Several luncheons with friends.
Special church services.
While my husband and I tend to be home most evenings, next week we already have plans for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings ... and that does not include some of the extra daytime activities!!
If I'm not on MyLot much between now and Christmas, please understand. I will do what I can ... but it may not be very much!

Seems a very busy schedule.. I think it is the case with most of the people's here on mylot. That is why less activity here

@amitkokilanitya - Yes, I think a lot of people are going to be busy the next few weeks. I agree ... there is less activity on MyLot lately.

@DeborahDiane I really do not know how it will pan out as this is the first time I am having mentally challenged kids. Normal kids is a different matter and I have had no issues. Just memorable events

@allknowing - It is wonderful you do this. I have worked with mentally challenged kids before. Most of them are great kids, but a few can be problems.

@DeborahDiane I am going to prepare the lunch and the cake and bring everything ready to be heated in the oven. It is too cold to invite her in a restaurant, 96 are a lot of years.

That is awesome that your granddaughter plays water polo! At the swimming pools I manage, we have two adult water polo teams and a youth team that call our pools home. And starting in 2017, two of our local high schools will field their first high school water polo teams ever, and they will use our pools for practices and meets!

@DeborahDiane Girls athletics has exploded in popularity in the past decade, and colleges are trying to add new women's sports teams to their ranks to ensure they are complying with the federal Title IX laws (equal sports opportunities for men and women). This is a good time to be a female athlete, as it opens the doors for lots of new scholarship offers that may not have existed before!

@moffittjc - Yes, Title IX was great for girl athletes. I hope she does get some financial aid for college because her mom (our daughter) is a divorced mom and a teacher, so she doesn't have a lot of money to help much ... and her ex-husband is pretty much a deadbeat. The only reason she gets any support is because the state garnishes his wages, but that will stop when our daughter's two kids finish high school. She doesn't expect any college help.

@moffittjc - I used to work at the high school where my granddaughter now goes to school. The pool was built a couple of years before I retired, so the water polo team is new. I'm so happy that she is getting to have that experience. It is fun to watch ... and it was exciting to see her score the other night for the first time.

Tomorrow Mom and I are going to run some errands, and I have more presents to wrap (I think). Not sure what's going on Tuesday, Wednesday Mom and I will watch my nephew (and run more errands, and hopefully more presents will come in the mail for me to wrap). I want to put a last few things on Ebay. There's a work Christmast get together coming up....possibly more work opportunities before Christmas.

Thanks for sharing your long list of activities. I arrived in Florida and have been busy since setting foot in our condo. I don't have many free days or evenings throughout the season, which I can't believe. I'm planning on catching up with notifications when I can pop in. Enjoy!

@DianneN - Sounds like your life is a lot like mine. I know that Hanukah starts on our Christmas Day this year, so our schedule leading up to the holidays this year will be about the same.

@ms1864 - Yes, I'm sure you get busy in India when there are different holidays going on in your country. It is fun being on a site that is so international ... and getting to know other people and learn about their customs.
