I started to make my jam!

Finally we picked enough apricots to make a jam. The apricots are pared, placed in 2 big pots and sugar was added to mix with the big spoon. When the apricots are juicy, I´ll place the pots in the stove to simmer very slowly. Meanwhile, we are looking at the jars and counting the presents. Those are first. Then I will make some small jars (I have some from baby food) that I leave at my house and use for Hector´s jams every Tuesday. When I have them all at th kitchen counter top, I´ll wash them and boil them. What sort of homemade gifts are you making this Christmas?

Your jam sounds delicious! I plan to give some chocolate mint squares to my sister and brother, and sugared peanuts to the guys in the family. Roll-on perfume that I made with essential oils for the girls and maybe pecan balls to my cousin.

I love apricot jam and I bet homemade is better than anything I can buy here. The only homemade gift I made this year is a scarf for a neighbor just as a token gift.

Don;t you need to stir the jam while it is getting ready? Also does your jam get that shine?
