An annoying symptom of hypertension

When my blood pressure gets too high I see spots. It makes it hard to read, to watch television, to do something on the computer. It does alert me to check my BP, though. Right now it's 176/112 so I took half a tablet of my medicine, I usually take one at morning and one at night. Quitting smoking didn't seem to help my high BP. I'm starting a weight loss program tomorrow to see if that brings it down any. It's The Mini-Fast Diet. If you are interested, that is the title of a discussion by Alice Henry about the diet and it seems healthy and easier to follow than most. I really hate having hypertension. It can be so irritating. Do you have a condition that has symptoms that are annoying?

Your BP is way too high. Are you taking something for it?

Yes, I'm on medication. Sometimes, like today, I have to take more of it than prescribed but I take it morning and night. Even with the meds it's usually around 145/100.

Since I visited with you a few years ago I have been diagnosed with diabetes, and that is annoying.

Yes, I imagine diabetes would be highly annoying!! My ex husband developed it, too, but luckily he married a nurse so she takes good care of him. I found that the dietary restrictions of hypertension very annoying so you must also find it so! So many things you can't enjoy or must cut down on with diabetes. Cutting back on salt was hard for me but I did it and now I think many things are too salty.

I wound up on 4 medicines for my hypertension to get it down. Now that my weight is down, I'm off of one and down on the dosage of another

I'm hoping that losing weight will get my BP down, too. I thought that once I stopped smoking it would go way down but it's actually worse than before! I'm starting a diet tomorrow--no really, I am!
