An Easy Way to Make Last Minute Gift Cards Special

Here's an easy way to make gift cards special, especially as we are now officially in the Christmas rush! I had a few last minute things to buy so I bought my daughter a little extra present, on top of the sweater I bought her-- a gift card. I just got her a gift card from a makeup store to top up her present and I added a little extra- a blush that I know she likes to personalize the card.
This way I can wrap it and for not much more make it special. This idea of adding a little gift on top of the card will personalize it and make it look like you did a little extra something for that person. It's easier than you think to do but does help if you know the person a little. You can add fun socks or Christmas socks, a box of candy, a little hardware tool for a man, nail polish or whatever for a woman, etc. and it makes it look like you went the extra mile. A super idea as we get to the home stretch before Christmas! Are you finished shopping yet?

@MarymargII I need to do some last minute grocery shopping as well. I have some baking to do so I need to get the ingredients. I also need to figure out what the vegetable is going to be for Christmas dinner.

@just4him I'm making a medley of brussel sprout, which I will cut in half and boil and roast, mixed in with carrots and two parsnips. Squash casserole on the side!

We do give gifts but the gift card has become a big thing. It's not bad as you can buy what you want at the store that you love.

That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing it.
No shopping for me this Christmas. I'm giving either cash or gift cards.

I finished my shopping a long time ago. We're going the easy route in that we're not buying any gifts this year. I will be doing a Chinese auction with my extended family. I still have to look at a gift I have wrapped in the basement to remind myself what's in it and decide whether it's worthy of the auction or not.
I do have to call my sister-in-law to find out what we're supposed to take to their house on Sunday, but otherwise we have our tree up and we'll probably sleep in— nope. Just remembered it's on Sunday, we'll be heading off to church. My daughter is singing that day with others.

@MarymargII I don't get stressed from shopping of any kind. I do get stressed when I'm not sure how well I can pay my bills.

Sounds like a great plan- and you won't be stressed- I downsized my buying somewhat and so it wasn't so bad this year!

@MarymargII We are in our AirBnB in Melbourne and caught up with our son a while ago. I will be able to connect to the internet here but may not have a lot of time to spare.

If you're stuck for something it adds to a gift card.
