One of my favourite things about myLot is that no matter when you come by here, someone is experiencing quite a different time zone to your own. Being down here at the bottom of the world, in New Zealand, I know that when I'm awake and calling in here, the majority of you are asleep, or at least thinking about it - often still in the day before my own. Then, whether it's suffering summer heat or shivering through winter cold, somewhere someone else is experiencing the opposite. So, enjoy my summer while it lasts, I hope it helps you through your winter months.

@valmnz I love the desolation in that photo Val. Others might find something else on it to appreciate.

Tide out at the estuary. It was probably taken in winter too.

I am so excited about tomorrow because it is the shortest day of the year for us in the Northern Hemisphere. So from tomorrow each day will get lighter a minute a day meaning spring will be here soon and then we will be heading towards summer again! I don't know where this year has gone Val. Enjoy the summer !

Oh bother, then it is the longest day here. At least we have daylight savings right now.

I like this aspect of it too. I've given up trying to keep track really and I've never bothered with trying to post or comment at 'prime times'. If people want to follow you they'll find you just as I 'find' all my friends.

It's what we have to do in our part of the world! As you say, if people want to find you, they will! I love waking up in the morning to find out who has visited over night.

I would like to just hibernate until April or May. It's 25 during the day and about half of that at night.

There is always something interesting happening in mylot because if someone is sleeping another person is sharing a (hopefully amazing) discussion!

I agree that it's nice to hear that someone is having nice weather if our own isn't up to much. Conversely it's good to feel warm while others are buried under mountains of snow.

there is also the fact that one of us is speaking to the other, from what is effectively, the past.
