Do you find Freeway shooters to be inconsiderate where you live?

In the San Francisco Bay Area, where I live, we've had a rash of Freeway shootings over the past couple of years. Many have occurred on roads I travel often, including I-80, I-580, I-880, and Hwy 4. What irks me the most about Freeway shooters is how inconsiderate they are toward those of us who do not participate in Freeway shootings. Tonight, I-580 in Oakland is completely shut down in one direction due to a Freeway shooting. That means hundreds, if not thousands, of commuters are unable to get home to their families. I am thankful to most Freeway shooters for not targeting me personally. I understand that most Freeway shootings involve gang rivalries, road rage, or love triangles, all of which I avoid. I understand that there are vast cultural differences within any large urban area, and that I may be overstepping my bounds. But I still want to go on record as requesting that Freeway shooters of all races, genders, and sexual orientations band together and engage in this particular activity where it will have less of an impact of those of use who do not participate in Freeway shootings. Have I gone to far?

I am glad we do not have this problem, only terrorists that speed their trucks in Christmas markets right now. It's not better.

@TheHorse The one who killed 28 people at last week in Berlin has been killed yesterday night by the police in Milano. He was a Tunisian, one of the many immigrants who came into Europe through Italy.

@LadyDuck That's what I heard. Where is Tunisia anyway?

Europe has always seemed "civilized" to me when I've visited. Now I wonder.

Why do they have to drag innocent people in with their mess... there are freeway shooters here too!

@TheHorse Eventually they'll be caught one way or another!

I think they should only involve innocents when holding them at gunpoint to procure funds for their activities. Inconveniencing them on roads and Freeways is simply inconsiderate, even rude.

@infatuatedbby It can be difficult to identify people who shoot at each other while driving. But the bullet holes in their cars might be seen as circumstantial evidence if they don't make it to the chop shop on time.

It is very scary to me when this happens. Used to be it was so far away it was of no danger to me but now it is happening closer and closer.

@shaggin I think there are a higher percentage of good people among police than among criminals. But I could be wrong.

I drove by the aftermath of another one the other evening on Highway 4. Once again, the shooter was inconsiderate of those around him. The Hillcrest Exit from Highway 4 was blocked off four hours. In fact, the police, whom people are so quick to criticize these days, were much more considerate than the murderer. They had covered the part of the car where the brain parts were with a blanket, so passersby could not see them.

I agree. I think that they should have a conference at a nice hotel and map out territories and time slots, get a regular calendar and things would be a lot better for non-freeway shooters.

A conference sounds like a good idea. That's how others do it, be it psychologists, biologists, restaurateurs, or gamers.

@JamesHxstatic As did I. Happily, I never accidentally wound up at a Shooters Convention. It was all Psychology stuff.

We have certain areas where there is a lot of shooting Jews. The ones that shoot do it on purpose and want to murder as many Jews as they can.

The United States can be so sad. I learned from a previous "freeway shooting" (actually, the previous one was on a surface street, not a freeway) that brains are pink, not grey, when splattered on a windshield.

People I've met from Australia and New Zealand tend to be quite nice. I'm heartened to hear that the Freeway shooters there are more considerate as well.

To answer your question, I once went to a small town in Texas. It was called Pharr. I don't know whether you've gone to Pharr, but if you do, don't blink. I'm pretty sure there are no Freeway shooters there, even though Pharr is in Texas, a state notorious for shooters of all types.

@TheHorse I did mean it, lol, because you used "to" instead of "too" in your question. I really have gone to Pharr. Pharr, TX, that is.

I would have thought that with your nefarious disregard for the law, gang rivalries would be right up your alley! Seriously, we had one in Colorado a few months ago, but that's the only one I can remember.

My life of crime gives me a certain edge when it comes to working with those on the wrong side of the law. But when it comes to shooting people, especially where it can inconvenience others, I discourage it. I guess I'm a softy at heart.
