It took some doing over two days, but the presents for my missus are all wrapped and ready to go under the tree. My sons and I have learned to make sure the number of presents for my missus outnumber the presents the rest of us receive. We do this because, one year, she received one big and very expensive present she'd asked for, and a few other small things, and then had to sit and watch us open the rest of our presents. Don't get me wrong, she didn't pout or complain, but the boys and I felt bad that she didn't have more gifts to open so we pledged to make sure she would always have the most presents to open from that year forward. For me, the fun of Christmas morning is watching my missus and my boys open their presents. I do appreciate the gifts I receive, and the thought spent in choosing them, but I'd much rather give than receive. Have you wrapped your Christmas gifts yet?

wrapped and under the tree weeks ago. We don't buy a lot of gifts for each other - we buy what we want all through the year so it's hard to even come up with ideas of what to buy. Merry Christmas!

Along about August, when I mention I want to buy something, my missus starts in with "Why don't you wait and see if someone gets it for you for Christmas?" I tell her I don't want to wait, and she gets upset with me. Then, come Christmas, she's forgotten, I don't get it, and wind up going out to buy it for myself anyway.

@DWDavis We all have our ways of doing things. I used to buy presents during the year but then I thought - what if that person isn't around by Christmas, so I stopped doing that.

I did all my wrapping last night. My husband is usually the one sitting and watching. I actually spent more on him this year than usual. I can never think of what to get him but I got the idea of getting a power washer. He will get much use of that when he needs to clean the pool tarp, for one. I also got him two new smoke detectors. The ones we have are really old and he won't buy new ones. He is one of those people who think they are invincible, ie. "it won't happen to me". Because we all got new phones this year the girls are only getting of few small gifts.

I usually wait until Christmas Eve to wrap, but this year we won't be home until after midnight church service so I made sure to get done early.

I haven't even gotten the gifts yet, except a few! Then I have to still wrap them all. It's been the most last minute year yet for us. Packing took up most of our month-and now that things changed we are rushing to get everything done for Christmas! Ugh, such is life sometimes.

This is the first year I ever finished my gift shopping and wrapping before Christmas Eve. I'm usually rushing around in a frenzy trying to find things.

Wonderful gift giving tradition. My sister wrapped most of our gifts to give this season

My husband and I decide what we want and get them without wrapping them.

My wife gives me a comprehensive list of what she wants, but I always throw in a thing or two she's not expecting. This year I was no help at all in helping her shop for me as the only things I would really like that I don't have are a new pickup truck ($$$$$$) and a telephoto lens for my camera ($$$$). Neither of them is practical as a Christmas gift.

Mine is slightly different. Each year there is a party for the poor kids that I spend for and their happiness is the biggest gift I receive. This time it was for the mentally challenged.

Since my furmily has no clue about Christmas I simply make them chicken more often this time of year, that always goes over really good, the broth becomes part of the spaghetti sauce for my pasta.

I always love watching people opening presents and I love buying presents. I know what you mean about needing to make sure everyone has (slightly) similar numbers of presents to open.

I like giving, moreso if the gift is needed and appreciated.
