Christmas, I love it. I don't need decorations to feel the warmth of this season just the camaraderie of family and friends. I have a little prayer for all of you, May the Spirit of Love and Compassion for all Creatures Big and Small Strike a Severe blow to your Heart

Are those real candles (lit) on that Christmas tree in your picture? I do like to have lights around me and a few decorations, carols, sweets making, mingling with friends and family, a party for poor kids et al that puts me in the Christmas mood.

Yes, those are real lit candles. Mom was born in 1916 so fire was still the normal mode of night illumination even on Christmas trees. She also learned a lot from our stay in Germany when dad was stationed over there.

Thank you so much @jaboUK Hopefully your New Year will be very happy and prosperous. I am curious if you have ever vacationed in CanCun Mexico? A friend of mine just got back from her vacation and told me hers was totally lovely. She found a deal that had everything included in one price, $1000 I believe she said, which to her was a bargain. I believe she spent 5 days and nights there. To me the price seemed hefty but then I wouldn't vacation anyway cuz of the furmily and also because going alone is never fun. I hope you get to vacation again soon, I love the ideas your travels give you.

@rebelann The Day itself was lovely - my son and his wife and two of our friends came, so it was just a nice number. We've hardly been out of the house since - very peaceful. I'd like to wish you a Happy New Year (insert your name here - I know you want that kept private), lots of love.

You too, I am having a nice relaxing holiday .... hemmmm, come to think of it I usually have nice relaxing any ole day anyway. Retirement is so relaxing, most of the time.
