I think I will start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year just in case my plans to be here then don't turn out like I intended, which is what happened at Christmas and the reason that I did not post my best wishes 
I thought that I would be here on Christmas Eve, Chrsitmas Day and today too but that was not the case (though I am here now or at least i think I am 
)
So many people phoned wanting to see me personally rather than just sending a message on the days before Christmas and yesterday I was away almost all day with my son's family and today I had a friend here for lunch... and now it is evening here 
So I do make a routine but I just don't seem to be able to stick to it and the last days of the year look to be getting booked up too - my grandson will be here some days as he is on holiday from school, the cat will go to the vet mid-week and friends will be here on a couple of other days. I should have less to do than usual so I should be able to be here but just in case...
I hope your Christmas was fun and that it went as you had planned and that you are none the worse for it either. Many people have the 'flu here and I hope that will not get in the way at any point as I don't need that.
Have you had a 'flu jab?

Did Santa think that you had been good? 
More gnomes outside a shop selling spectacles. They are all over the town during the holidays and brighten it up for Christmas

Happy New Year to you my dear friend! 
I am avoiding the eat too much option completely this holiday so as not to ruin the results of eight months of cutting out 'everything that feeds the eyes but is not good for the rest of the body. The first time that I have not over-eaten but I am pleased... though we also have a holiday pon the 6th January here so there are still two more to get through

@topffer I don't really want to go back into hospital and that is the reason that I am strict

@mysdianait You are severe with yourself. I celebrate the New Year Eve with the same friends since more than 20 years, and I do not look at what I eat during this night
. Our next public holiday in France will be on April 17th only, for Easter, but we will have three other holidays in May

Everyone gets a bit busy around the holidays. I've been home most of the weekend as we host Christmas here with just the kids, so I had a few minutes to pop online.

I will be here more next week (I think) as after this weekend we have only one more holiday on the 6th (Epiphany) and then nothing more until Easter. Too many all at the same time for my liking

@katsmeow1213 We have no more until the middle of April when it will be Easter and then three close to that through May and the first weekend of June. At least the weather is better then though.

@mysdianait I love it.. gives me more time off work! We had two 3-day weekends in a row.. and in 2 weeks we get another one for Martin Luther King Jr day.

Glad you enjoyed your Christmas and from what you wrote, your New Year's looks fully booked as well. I really didn't eat much. I'm wary of growing my already big belly!

I took my tablet with me thinking that I would get time and a long enough break to get here but I only made one comment to @marguicha after reading of the earthquake in her country. Then it would have been really bad mannered to have stayed any longer. I should get here in the evenings until the New Year though as I see nothing interfering with that part of the plan at the moment.

@mysdianait Dear Di, as I replied in your other post, we are quite prepared for earthquakes. Most of the victims that we have at those times are people that either don´t follow instructions or are too old to do so.

Christmas as good...Flu shot was months ago
I never eat too much - no such thing LOL

Your 'flu shot works for you and you don't get 'flu? My doctor siggested that I should have it every year now but I hear that some who have it still get the 'flu so I didn't have it done.
I guess that 'too much' is opionable, right?
Better than normal could mean just about anything!

@AbbyGreenhill Well some people seem to get 'flu even after they have been vaccinated against it. Seems so unfair

Yes it has been a busy week. I had my grandson here more days than I expected too which meant I had to cook more. We went out more often than I would have done if I had been alone too, I think he will be here next week too as school is closed until the 9th. It's all good fun when he is here though

It was a very good Christmas here besides my baby being sick. =( I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well! I didn't eat much but that's okay, we had pasta with garlic bread which was really good.

Yes Christmas was very good and luckily those who had flu were almost over it and those going down with it were not too sick to gbe at the table so that we all ate together.
I am sorry that your baby was sick for Christmas though and hope it will soon be history and fit again

I had a flu shot so I am hoping it will keep me from getting the flu this year. I hope you don't get it either. Did I eat too much, why of course...just like I always do during the holidays...lol. I guess Santa thought I was good because I got just about everything I wanted for Christmas. What about you? Did you get what you wanted for Christmas?

I really want to be here but things just keep happening. Like the arrival of the cat (which I didn't mention up there) though she sits on a chair near to the computer when I am here and has not complained so far.
