The budget airlines don't provide the food, luggage etc. for free. They try to control the cost and therefore their price can be lower. And therefore it has an effect on the normal airlines. Now they consider to stop providing the free food so that their price can be competitive. Do you mind it? I don't really mind it. It is still good that the plane ticket can be cheaper. If I need the food provided by the plane, I can pay for it anyway. It is better to have one more choice.

I have never flown on those airlines. But I have seen that food is worse that before.

Usually I enjoy eating in the plane. Perhaps I am not very picky.

@youless Food aboard used to be very good. Not anymore. It´s like the seats in the planes. Years ago they were comfortable. Now you can barely sit, even if you are slim.

I don't travel but when I did they provided snacks and drinks. If the fare is cheaper than I wouldn't mind if there were snacks or not. But if it's long flights I'd probably get hungry though?

You are right. The budget airlines will think about other ways to cut the budgets for long flights.

@youless I think longer flights people will be hungry, unless there is an option to buy it with the ticket.

Nothing seems to be free when you fly anymore. I have not been in a lane for a lot of years.

If it is not the holiday, the plane price is still nice. Sometimes it is unbelievable good.
27 Dec 16
@jstory07 They charge something for absolutely everything.

As you say, you can choose whether to take the cheap ticket and pay for food (or take your own) or pay a bit more and get a meal.

I remember I took a normal flight at night. Then in the midnight they woke you up to offer you a meal A budget plane will not have such a problem because they will lnot offer you anything for free

@youless Yes, being woken up for a meal wouldn't be too good.

I think it is rather pathetic. Change is hard for me. It doesn't seem fair to put up with such changes when I am used to having things for free or included.

The food seems to be free now, actually the cost is already included in the plane ticket.

We would rather pay if we want the food. Usually, it is not the best.

I don't mind if they're short-distance flights and I don't expect too much from budget airlines anyway.

I took the budget airlines twice and it is fine. I ordered my dinner once since it was the meal time. And I didn't order the food in the rest since the time was not suitable to have a meal. So the airlines and me didn't waste money on it.

@youless Yeah it would depend a lot on the time of day/night too, I guess. If it's only a couple of hours I'd just wait until I land to have my meal, or if I'm too hungry I'd eat before flying.

It's alright to have no food for short hour trips but for long hour trips , I think they should provide some...

Yes, at least eating can kill some of the time when you take the long journey by plane

I don't mind it if the duration of the flight is under 3-4 hours.

Of course it is better to have free meals for long flights. As it can kill some time and it will be less boring
